Do you use corn for directions? Is "Ohhhp" a word in your dictionary? Do most conversations you have start and end with the weather?
If you answered yes to any and all of these questions, you are DEFINITELY from the Midwest! Whether you're scarfing down hot dogs at a BBQ every weekend, refusing to make two trips to bring in all the groceries, or apologizing to inanimate objects after accidentally bumping into them...this is the video for you!
Comment below with your favorite Midwestern things!

That's funny, I was born and raised in NE Iowa and never saw that until I moved to Texas. I always thought that people in the Midwest tried to avoid eye contact with strangers, I guess they think you're going to ask them for money.

I live in Kansas, too. You can't go to the basement, because then you can't see what's going on!!! And in Topeka, KS, where I've lived for 22 years, the tornado siren simply means there is a tornado on the ground somewhere MORE THAN 40 MILES AWAY!!!!! Truth!

Ha! The tornado siren is so true. We do go out to watch it. We also go out to watch blizzards. I remember when I was young, my grandparents had put a screen all the way around the front porch just to sit out and watch heat lightning. Being from Ohio and moved to North Carolina for nine years, it was really a huge culture shock. Then I moved to Indiana and have discovered that even in the Midwest, each state is a culture unto itself. And this is how we have snow days... There are so many rules for the Midwest, but this is my favorite....if the Principal can get out of his driveway, then we still have school. You should do one on Midwest Rules. One of them should be "coleslaw is a side dish, not a sandwich topping".

I’ve traveled to 4 states in the Midwest and people for the most part have a generic accent just like you guys. I’ve grown up in Dallas and sometimes people with a Southern accent ask me where I’m from because I too, have no accent and when people asked me where I’m from in the Midwest they’re shocked to hear I’m from Dallas. I’ve met a number of Chicagoans and they’re pretty chill. From my understanding people from the Midwest love Ranch dressing, is that true? Cheers you guys!

I would say that if you are under fifty years of age, you would probably note the difference. If you are under 50, the influence of air travel, and the internet, would affect cultural verbiage. I think this is also why more upper midwesterners cuss more than they did in the 70's or 80's. It's just an observation.

P.S. The ketchup thing in the comments, there must be some really young people commenting. Ok, from Western Ohio, ketchup was used for french fries, hot dogs, hamburgers, bologna sandwiches, eggs, meat loaf and steak. People also ate cow tongue, cow liver, cow heart and cow kidneys. My grandfather, a 5th generation German-English Mennonite/Quaker/ Church of the Brethren/Nazarine American Ohioan, loved pickled pigs feet and cucumber pie. He made made homemade noodles. And farmers in Ohio had piles of manure as lawn ornaments and you knew what time of the year it was by the smell in the air.
