I use my right side stance to throw yoko geri and mawashi geri. ( all side stance kick ) And i use my left front stance to throw your mae geri , kakato geri ( all front stance kick )

Is having the target angled down slightly really needed for the snap kick to have good contact? Or is it possible to get a perfect result if the target is straight when you are doing a snap kick?

I have it like that because I like the kick to rise up into the target a bit, the body isn’t a perfectly flat surface like the shield so I do this to make it closer to how it feels landing it on a body.
