Can I ask - when you originally ran the job and were off by a bit (when you mentioned in the video how it ran from lining up to the top line, but went off course as you followed it around), how would you have fixed that problem? I know you showed it running the full length around the tumbler as "on the line", but If I"m off and need to fix, what's the step to get it to line up? Thank you soooo much!

*Great video Emily!* Quick tip: Be careful with a ZnSe (zinc selenide) CO2 laser lens, and never touch them with your bare fingers; they are toxic and easily damaged. I personally always use cotton gloves.

Thank you for the video! I have been using the Grip and have seen contradictory information about how much to tighten the cup on the Grip fingers. It makes more sense to me that it be tight. Thank you for confirming!

You’re welcome. Idk what people saying about it being loose. I just know I’m more successful when it’s tightly gripped. 🙂

so how did you correct the frame in on the second cup to be straight on the cup?

I didn't catch it until after I had run the job but there was a random dot floating slightly above the image.

What was your speed/power for a baseline to get me started in the right area of testing. We have almost the same AEON as you.
@ThatMomWithALaser3 ай бұрын
Hi! It will depend on the cup. Have you run a material test? If not, try 350 speed - 600, with a range of power from 30-50

Hi Emily, I’ve slowly figuring out full wraps and have been successful. I do have some questions I’ve been struggling with 1. How do you measure and figure out where you allow for be Stanley logo? 2. My designs seem distorted/stretched on the smaller bottom of cup, how can I fix this? Thanks, Karen

Thank you for this video. I have the Mira 7 and I love it. Been wanting to try the tumbler engraving but what were your final speed/power and lpi so I can test mine out and then adjust it from there since I’ve learned every engraving is different. Thank you for all your help and courses. Huge help for me 😊
@ThatMomWithALaser10 ай бұрын
That makes me so happy to hear! For this I engraved at 350 speed with 40% power on a 60watt Mira with a .07 Line Interval.
@ANDROID_AUTHORITYАй бұрын
Although when doing Stanley tumblers the handle tabs can be bent flat when the mug is being engraved which keeps it flat and away from your laser head.

I didn't think LA Awsome smells bad. Really just has a nice cleaner smell to me. I've been very happy with it. I have to check price of the Dawn Powerwash to LA Awesome. When I used the Powerwash for regular household stuff, it seemed to go pretty quick and if I recall it wasn't that cheap. It's a good product though, I agree.

What was the final setting (speed/power) for the engraving? Is the paint about the same on most tumblers?
@ThatMomWithALaser10 ай бұрын
The paint varies depending on the tumbler and color. For this I engraved at 350 speed with 40% power on a 60watt Mira.

Thank you sooo much for this! I have been struggling and you made it so much easier to understand. I see you don't have the feet on your rotary, is it just easier to work with like that?

How did you compensate for the taper and lower half? I see your template didn't show that portion.....
@ThatMomWithALaser10 ай бұрын
You don’t need to change anything in the file. Just level the cup on the top and the bottom. 💪🏼
@Ryan8228810 ай бұрын
18:10 so you focus both spots of the cup? I don’t own a piburn but my thought is won’t the cup in the middle be way out of focus due to tilting?
@ThatMomWithALaser10 ай бұрын
Correct. You focus the cup on both the top and the bottom. Because of the larger lens, there is a longer range of focus so even though the center is slightly out of focus, it's still within the effective focal range and will engrave nicely. :)
@Ryan8228810 ай бұрын
That makes sense!
@jf672010 ай бұрын
When you raise the small diameter side, doesn't that raise the middle of the cup up also? Isn't there a chance of it hitting the middle (large diameter in the middle just before it drops to small?)
@ThatMomWithALaser10 ай бұрын
It may feel that way but it actually doesn't hit the center because the longer focal range creates plenty of clearance even for the center.
@StephanieGreer-z9j9 ай бұрын
Quick question. After you took the tape off you mentioned that you put the tumbler back on the rotary. Why take it off?
@ThatMomWithALaser9 ай бұрын
I took it off so I could remove the tape. Is that what you mean?
@stephaniescreationsllc9 ай бұрын
Can you just take the tape off while it’s on the rotary. Since you took it off do you have to go through the process of setting it up again but withiut the tape?

It might be the way your design is set up. Make sure the image is ungrouped so you can only select what you want :)
@marlenelastoria29309 ай бұрын

@ThatMomWithALaser4 ай бұрын
@@gemhill1 hey there. It was an outlier in the file. Had I caught it in time I would have removed it from the file and reframed it.
@PatrickOrr-q3b10 ай бұрын
So the focal distance isn't consistent obviously but thats okay? You wouldn't be 23 mm all the way down the cup.
@ThatMomWithALaser10 ай бұрын
It’s ok because the cup has been leveled on the top and the bottom. The beam will be slightly out of focus in the center but that’s ok because that area is still within the effective focal range of the beam.
