Excellent video. You got straight to the point and gave tips as you went along. None of the waffle that other people do. Very educational and informative. Well done, I feel confident to get on with my patio.

Thanks for the video, I am in the process of single handedly laying a 72m2, 900 x 600 sandstone slab patio, I am a diy ex lorry driver and thought I would have lots of rest when I retired,,, NO CHANCE, But thanks to informative videos like yours I have accepted the challenge and currently 10 tonne type 1 compacted to an inch of it's life, 4 tonnes grit sand, cement (lost count), and 24 slabs of the 130 ish, into the project, and its not looking too bad. Looking at the Sika joint compound and the video on the mistakes people make was very useful too. Cheers.

Instead of getting the sika out and just brushing it in what i do is i put it in the tub then fill the tub with water this keeps the sika wet without having to worry about keeping your patio wet then apply with a trowel, i find my method uses less resin and the resin doesnt go off so you can take your time.

Looks good. We have just done a similar job... 23sqm with 900 x 600 porcelain. Quoted around 5.5k (manchester area) and in total cost us about £1200

That is awesome! Huge saving!

So happy I found this video. I was quoted 10000 GBP (in Brighton) for 5m2 excluding tiles.

Great job! How long did it take to lay the slabs?

Thanks 🙏 i did this over three Saturdays. I was very slow to start but was flying them in by the last row.

Labour for a team of two 300£ for 3 days ,best of luck with that. It could take 3 days to dig out and load into skip plus laying hard-core barrowed from around front. Timescale and cost unrealistic

Me and a mate dug it out in one day and moved the soil elsewhere in the garden (veg patches and low spots) The hardcore was dropped directly in the back via the farmers field.
