Look's amazing, well done guy's. I personally don't tile patio's but have been tiling floor's for coming up to 35 years. It's proper hard work and takes a massive toll on our bodies. How you lay those tiles standing up amazes me. The problem i have is i'm 6' 4" and the floor is a long way down so have to be on my knee's. Up and down all day long and my knee's are shot. Take care of your body chaps. Keep up the good work. Subscribed.

Mate totally agree, but brought one for the cuts against wall where your fingers get trapped, slurry all over the tile, game changer I'm telling ya, also been using flowpoint on porcelain for years , never really happy with finished results, always few mill below tile level , because they don't soak water, lays on top even a fine spray seems to water the grout down, how you getting on with the fuga, what's the waiting times for clean off and weather conditions for using it , not licking here but top landscaper best in pool, but I'm best in Birmingham 😁

I was wondering! If you lay sandstone in really cold climates (-6 to -12) I have hear issues of people getting frost heave due to expansion and contraction. What would you recommend we bed 900x29x3cm tiles on? Do you think a 150mm mot type 1 base is enough, with 50mm of muck? The Vickings over hear tend to lay their patios on a 30mm sharp sand base so it can move? What do you think would be the best solution based on your experience? Cheers mate! Keep up the great work!
@Brockstonepavingpros3 жыл бұрын
@@myatix1 to be perfectly honest Alan I can’t answer that coz it’s a problem I’ve never had to consider. It rarely gets bellow -6 degrees here never mind -12! I think the Americans lay a lot of paving on sand for the same reason. A flexible bed could better in those conditions.

Hi mate, great work. How do you know the levels your slabbing too? Did you just take the level of the aco drain and chase it right through? Thanks

is there any fall on this patio? Looks like its laid totally flat?

Yes there is a fall on it. Every patio should have a fall on it

Hello, I have a 30m2 beam and block patio area, built as part of my extension. I’m thinking of ideas and ways in which to finish this area and how to approach it with the block and beam. The B&B naturally has a little flex in it therefore I want to proceed with the correct method to ensure tiles and joints don’t crack. I’m looking at a porcelain tile finish. Will this require a fibre screed like I had internally then to lay the porcelain with a cement mix? Advice would be useful from anyone who has experience of this. Thanks

Do u not have a string line up for ur fall to tie everything back in to for heights and grades and can’t see how u can just use a level to make the run and get it to land bang on
@Brockstonepavingpros2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do have a line. I use one sometimes on flags that aren’t flat (usually convex), these are dead flat. Saves faffing setting line up, so it’s faster. You can’t see how I can just use a level and get it bang on? Well the proof is there 👀

What is the base under the Mortar please ? I have dirt now and was told I need a concrete base first and wait until it’s dry (10 days ) before I can lay porcelain tiles
@Brockstonepavingpros2 жыл бұрын
Hello mate, Are you from the US? I’m guessing so as that’s a standard job over there. Here we lay on a compacted crushed stone sub base. Nothing wrong with concrete but not required 👍

@@Brockstonepavingpros Thank you so much , yes brother I am originally from Tunisia and that’s how we do it too , but I live in the US now since 2000 and here they all said the same thing concrete first lol , that’s a lots of concrete for a 12x16 feet area approximately 20 meter square I am guessing 40 to 50 bags of 60Lb concrete and it’s intense labor mixing it .

Great job. Why don't you use a line 😮
@Brockstonepavingpros Жыл бұрын
Cheers. I do sometimes, if the flag is nice & flat /true then I’ll usually just level. The line takes a bit of faffin and you have to make sure it’s very taut on long runs. I’ll use a line on convex or undulating flags as you can lose the level 👍
