You only did this in your house couple of times and it looks like you've been doing this for 40 years. Man are you a quick learner 😁

If you were doing this for the backing to a woodstove, would you still recommend using liquid nails and not mortar. Fire code for this particular stove doesn’t require any heat protection, but it will make me feel better if I do the brick veneer. The stove will be a about 8” away

Boy if the stove doesn't require any heat protection i would assume that it doesn't produce a bunch of heat to the rear. I would still go with the liqiud nails. But you right if the wall needed protection i woul,d go with mortar. Hope this helps

The back isn’t gonna get hot Jesus guys, and thinset is always gonna be better than liquid nail UNLESS!!!! You renovate once a decade. It will be way easier to get off, matter of fact it may fall off after a decade😂😂 I’ve been a tile setter for 25 years and we also do brick pavers, thin brick n marble

Regarding how you worked out your spacing from side to side, i would do that top to bottom too; you may end up needing a juat sliver on the last row. Great looking job!

Thanks for watching! That would make me cut twice which is the worse part. I had a lot of different ways I could go with trim but got pretty lucky on that last row. Take csrr

Great work. Would this same method work on an outdoor cinder block fireplace? With the glue and then grout mortar? Or would a traditional mortar application be better?
@HomeProHero
@HomeProHero 9 ай бұрын
That's a good question! I think it will work if you use liquid nails landscape or any adhesive for outdoor mason work. The bricks and mortar are the same as u see on homes!

@@HomeProHero wasn’t sure if the glue would hold up outside to the moisture and elements, but I guess once the grout is applied it becomes basically weatherproof?

That landscape liquid nails is used regularly here in Indiana for bonding retaining wall blocks. I think it works!

Gorilla glue makes a similar product that is for stone and brick that I’ve done outdoor backsplashes and also for granite tile countertops edges and haven’t had any come off.

Do you know if this can be installed directly on a sheetrock and plaster wall with that adhesive for a kitchen backsplash? Is there any prep work required, like cement board or another substrate?
@HomeProHero
@HomeProHero 9 ай бұрын
Thx for watching. Yea for sure it can be installed as a backsplash. In this video I did it on regular Sheetrock/drywall

Thanks for the response! Will it adhere to plaster or do I have to scrape it?
@HomeProHero
@HomeProHero 9 ай бұрын
No clue I have never dealt with plaster but you could stick ons let it dry for 24hrs and if it's hard to remove you are good. I bet it will!

Would you have to seal it as a backsplash? Or at least give it a water resistant coating?
@HomeProHero
@HomeProHero 9 ай бұрын
Could be sealed with standard tile grout sealer to prevent staining from food spatter but may not be even needed. Thanks for watching!

The old school way works. Just better ways of doing it in today's world. Product and methods change but it's ok keep doing what you are doing!
