Why is the paint coming up when pulling up vinyl...what vinyl should be used? Should I back the first colt of ink then apply clear
@sistersmakingcreations51485 жыл бұрын
Brooke don’t use 651 that’s the one that pulls up the paint. This was a stencil mask so the sticky part isn’t as strong

So i did my cup like this in latte, now i want to add a decal and a darker color over the decal...my question is after I applied the latte and its completly dried, do I spray a clear seal and then place my decal and apply the darker color...im lost help please
@rockinjw33526 жыл бұрын
Ugh... I need suggestions please! I used Oramask 813 to make my own stencil. Before applying any ink, I sprayed the cup with gloss white and dried for several days. After applying lighter color of alcohol ink, I sealed the cup with spray sealer. It was a few days before I had time to work on second layer, so the alcohol ink and sealer were definitely dry. Placed the stencil, went over cup with darker alcohol ink. Immediately removed stencil. When removing stencil, in several places it pulled off ALL of the payers underneath. The sealer, the ink and the base coat... All the way down to the stainless. I have started over twice already with the same results. What am I doing wrong?!? THANKS!!!

First off, I LOVE your cups. Thanks for sharing the tutorial!I bought the Cricut removable vinyl to cut my own pictures. I stained the first layer. Did a light coat of the rust oleum clear and I couldn't get the vinyl off! It was scratching the ink. I tried it without the clear and same thing. Any ideas? I ordered the letters from Hazel & Ruby but I hate I can't add any pictures. What am I doing wrong? And mine turned colors, too, after spraying the light coat. First time trying this. Help! Please!

One more question. Is the baking reserved for the very end. Right before you apply the epoxy? Or do you bake in between the light and dark. Since I messaged you above, I found that the window clings might be the way to go to cut the shapes I want and still remove easily.

How do you remove/clean spray paint from the inside of your cup. For stenciling your cup did you epoxy the cup before you place the stencil?
@sistersmakingcreations51486 жыл бұрын
Melissa Sandoval I use acetone to remove any paint in tumbler. No I just clear coated and then put the stencil on. It’s not like 651 vinyl.

I dont understand the 50 % alcohol part at the end... do you mean, after you finish with the color ink & remove the vinyl, you then just dipped the brush into straight alcohol and ‘painted’ over it, correct? If so wouldn’t the alcohol kind of wash away the color ink designs?
@sistersmakingcreations51486 жыл бұрын
SR MeOw I use the 50% alcohol when I have all my ink down to smooth out any rough looking marks. That’s my personal preference 😊

At the end of the video you recommended possibly clear coating and baking it several times. I'm assuming you've already mentioned this in a tutorial so could you either give me details in the comments, refer me to a previous tutorial that includes this information, or do one of them in this technique you referring to as a tutorial video? I for one would greatly appreciate it. I'm just not sure if you're talking about and enamel paint from say folk art? Or or spray-on tight clear coat like Krylon which I've never heard of baking before. I'd appreciate your help and information, thank you!

@mooncrafternailsandmore79076 жыл бұрын
FATBOY LLC You posted your question to me instead of the channel but as I do tumblers as well I would say that if you plan on doing more than one or two of them than yes, I highly recommend you have a turner because you are going to get the best results from your resin. I personally made my own single cup turner. I watched a tutorial and did it my way, it was really easy!
