Hey Doug ✨ I'd like to say that this is honestly the best way to lead, learn and grow throughout 🤯 It was just recently that I found your videos and barely a month of even giving whittling a go. It was my wife's Christmas gift to me, a carving set of knives and the book of whittling 24 easy projects that brought me here and honestly it has begun to feel so wonderful doing it that I wish to keep going and getting better. To have my very own version of you and have abundance of such great talent. Thank you, the time and care you put in to make these sort of things is just mesmerizing. I think you are awesome 👍🏻

Watching Doug is better than watching the TV. Not only a fantastic carving of a Gnome, but a paint job to finish it.

I've just returned to whittling and did one of your minimalist lighthouses and want to paint it. Not being an artist or knowing anything about painting, I searched your videos for a tutorial and am glad I did - your guidance is clear and understandable! Thank you for sharing the evolution of your pieces - now I only hope I can take what I've heard/seen from you and apply it to my own. It is a joy to watch your videos, learn from you, and see all of your awesome pieces! Thank you for sharing your work and passion with us!

Great video, fun explanation. One tip for you, Doug. To get a better effect on the eyes, add a dry brush with grey or dark tan to the upper eyelid. You will find that this makes his 'stare' much softer. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks to you I have been whittling almost every day for the last 6 months. so much fun
