Thank you for this tutorial. I popped in to find out how I’m measuring up with my graphite drawing . I used to use polychromos for my darks but then discovered Mars Lumograph and I am happy with the results . Also I see a lot of shine in the strawberry so that it’s metallic like . Faber Castello Pitt pencils really cut that shine out . By now you’ve most likely discovered them . I’m wondering if you’ve done a tutorial on water soluble graphite? I’m just now experimenting with these.

How do you achieve accurate proportions. Do you grid the first sketch?
@mrMindcraftttt2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Sometime she use grid and sometime no 😄 Grid IS extremely good toi have the perfect proportion ! If you Want to improve your précision, you Can reduce thé amont of "square" little by little. Have a nice evening.

I want your shirt Gemma! :) I would like to know how to get rid of eraser marks after you draw something when you tend to have to erase alot and get rid of the indents from your pencil when you color with your pencils....i hope that makes sense lol
@GemmaChambersArt3 жыл бұрын
Have you tried using a putty eraser? I find they’re really good for getting everything. I never press so hard as to leave indents in the paper, it flattens the texture and stops it accepting more layers. The only exception is colour pencils when I’ve built up enough layers of colour - I burnish the area with firm pressure to blend everything together

Great tips, but I'm still not a huge fan of graphite (probably because I just jump in for the dark ones right away lol) but I have recently discovered I really like charcoal!
@GemmaChambersArt3 жыл бұрын
Oh I definitely get that temptation! I need to dig out my charcoal again - I love pastels and charcoal feels like a black and white version to me
