Wow, thank you. God recently revealed to me that is what he wants to do. And that's why I say God really has a sense of humor because I don't like being in front of people. I've always been shy. i prayed and fasted for a while seeking him for my purpose and he gave me 1King 19:19 3x by 3 different preachers in 1 week. it took a lot for me to just conquer or I should say control my fear of singing in public and now this. But I want to please him no matter how scared I am so he can say well done my good and faithful servant.

Tori King I'm in the same situation... just got involved with a small church, where they've only been doing old hymns. So I've been introducing contemporary Christian music to them, but it's a lot of work and preparation for one person. Praying for a team of Christian musicians to come along.

Tori King I have been there our church family is now 3 years and the Lord has increased us. At first we had instruments but no one to play, One time I was a one man choir leading and backing myself up as my pastor's wife had just given birth. But God has blessed us with instrumentalists, our choir has grown. God is faithful just trust Him. His timing is the best.

tori.MRS> V Murray- HAve u considered using instrumentals- We use praise/choir/small group songs with backgrund singers so the congregation can sing along and u can ad lib and lead - it helps a lot when u have limited instruments and singers

Verge sorry but. There is no such thing as a worship leader in the New Testament. We just need 1 tip in fact it's called TRUTH. The bible says that we enter the presence of God by the blood of Jesus and by one Spirit, the Spirit of Truth who is Holy. John 4:23-24, Eph 2:18, 3:8-13 Heb10:19-25 not by playing music and singing for hours. Christians need to know that as Romans 12: 1-2 states that to present our bodies as living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God, that that is our reasonable service (worship) That's it. No more nothing added. Live to serve God in Christ Gal 2:20

I was trained to lead worship without permanent line up,I build up songs on the spot,depending the needs of the congregation on that particular moment,numbers of songs doesn't matter ,even two songs is enough to bring them in the presence of God,One of the main purpose of the worship leader to prepare them for the word of God .It is very important that you worship first before leading them, you should ask His double portion ,so that the congregation will able to see Jesus in you and not yourself ,Do it as the Holy Spirit lead you.By the way I play the guitar ,and normally solo with back up singers.

Nelson just step back from what you have been taught and what you see everyone trying to do in these mega gatherings some call church. It's all about the ego and the show, it's all done supposedly as worship but is it? The word of God doesn't say we get into Gods presence by worshipping but by the blood of Jesus and by the spirit of God. In Christ, believers are already in the presence of God Eph 1:3 ;2:4-9. So Christians are already in the presence of God then why are we told by people who are supposed to be worship leaders that it's their job to get us into the presence. Sorry but that is a deception. It leaves people dependent on the "worship leader " to get them to in God's presence, but again the word of God says No one can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ. So once a person puts their faith in Christ and believes in Him for their salvation then they are baptised into His death, added to the body of Christ spiritually and resurrected having received new birth and are therefore in God's presence. A believer worships God in Spirit and truth. That is in the way they live their lives to please God. This is done according to Romans 12:1-2. The day to day life of a Christian is to take up their cross and follow Jesus, knowing that it is no longer they who lives but Christ who lives in them. (by the Holy Spirit) Worshipping God is not a one day a week event when musicians play and the congregation sings. We can certainly praise God with singing and playing. But worship is every day with or without singing and music. I have no idea what you are talking about when you speak of "asking His double portion" Nelson this kind of talk sounds great to the ignorant but it's not true. Look forward to your conversation.

So true. As worship leaders, back-up singers and musicians we cannot take people where we haven't been to. Hence, the necessity to know how to be in God's presence. Even the Book of Psalms tells us to sing UNTO THE LORD and to PRAISE Him with instruments and the dance.
