You're right people in India gatekeep important knowledge and its good work you're doing. You probably won't see this but your videos genuinely opened my eyes to how much i was slacking and need to push my limits, and have started working 6-8 hours on learning new things and will reach out when i get a job soon(2024 graduating batch)

This video is very important. People think "oh i will learn fullstack and get a fullstack job and then im successful". Well yea you will get a 9-5 and after a while you won't be content with how much you get paid and you will see people working in same job same field for 10-15 years but have made very little progress. 10-15 years is a very long time and you can become a hundred million dollar person in 15 years and yet these people are just working and making probably a few hundred thousand more than their starting salary. What Harkirat is doing and talking about is VERY crucial. He learns new skills and new technologies which are trending and where money actually is. In this way his knowledge increases and also wealth increases. This is what everyone should do, learn new skills every 1-2 years and shift from one to another this will increase your wealth and also learning curve will be better.

Yes, Indian's feel sharing knowledge will get them down, even I thought the same, In my high school there a lesson whose moral is "Keep something for yourself dont share everything" from that day I started not to share everything with others, but after this video I feel like Let's all grow together, nothing wrong in it, right !

Hey Harkirat, I think I am in the "Gaining momentum" phase. I wish to get into Full stack development after a gap of 4 years (computer science passout, 2020 batch, tier-3 college). I have enrolled in your 0-1 cohort (starting from 3rd Dec). Hoping to not lose motivation throughout the course. Just give me a thumbs-up here(a reply is more than welcomed ofcourse!) if you think I am on the right path considering my gap of 4 years. Looking forward to learn from you.✨

The idea of mentors is really great! Why not start a 100xdevs YC? Maybe ask the cohort members come up with product ideas which you can understand based on the market expectations or problems? (I do think for this to even come up we might need a lot of experience in the market ) Then let us know if they are good or not and maybe guide through as a mentor? Just an idea I had.

Harkirat, I think the gatekeeping aspect is very difficult to get away from for most Indians. The western culture starts most people at 0 at an early age, **most** are independent and working their ass to make money from the age of 18. So they kind of feel like they all are starting at the same playing field whereas in India most kids see the indifference in their daily life since school days and by the time they reach the uni, they see that amplifying so when they start earning all they can think is, "yeh mera time hai, mujhe upar jaana hai" and feel helping others might bring them down for which they struggled alone. Also population, education and opportunities, at graduation everyone here is at the same level (degree and education wise). Whereas in western culture because of their work experience/exposure, the diverse topics they can choose to study, some know they are unique in some ways which also makes them feel less threatening of others. Most people are not exposed to the western culture, because of your interest in content creation and youtube in general, you are exposed to the creator economy which sort of relies of helping each other and networking more than how the tech community works (in isolation). Anyway long story short, tech space in India makes almost everyone feel they are a fraud (high degree of imposter syndrome) mostly because the mass job market is like that for most people. Theres small percentage of tech job market which values practical knowledge and diverse interest of tech aspirants which the western job market considers when employing. I am likely speaking out of my depth here, but I hope it makes sense overall. Good luck with your endeavors man, very valuable message you are spreading and a ambitious tech culture your are trying to grow here. Thank you.

I took the cohort 0-1 in June. So yeah, in my experience you don’t need to make notes, code more instead in the whole week, for this, you can watch his video in which he told that traditional ways of learning won’t take you far in coding, like making notes and stuff. And if you’re able to manage the time then sure watch the live lectures during the end term, imo, you should not, atleast in the week of the end semester, rest is your choice, I hope it helps😁😁
