How do you deal with mistakes? This is such an important question that you’ll want to take notes on this, and I recommend you listening to it more than once.
We all make mistakes. It’s easy to forget that when we’re in the midst of a mess-up. But it’s impossible to avoid miscalculations, mishaps, both big and small.
No matter how impeccable you are or how perfect you feel like you could be, the question is not whether you will make a mistake, but it’s “Will you own it?”
So how do you bounce back from a mistake? In this episode, I’m going to share with you 3 "Kwik" things you could do to put mistakes behind you.
0:00 Redefining mistakes
3:55 Own your mistakes
4:25 Accept your mistakes
5:05 Apologize to others
5:33 Admit your mistakes
6:59 Learn from your mistakes
9:05 Don't repeat your mistakes
10:40 Prevent past mistakes

Mistakes are not only just doing wrong or affects you, it's about trying a new or different thing. That's what I have read his Limitless Book!

I know I have learned from my mistake. I made a worker feel bad about his. I’m a high-ranking chef at a university and I was told by an employee that her coworker (let's call him Will) had been touching crew members too much. Not _that_ type of touch, just casual ones, like on arms or shoulders. He was always very outgoing and tactile at work. I took him to my colleague’s office and told him he shouldn't touch anyone without consent. Just handshakes. I said we needed the workers to be comfortable in a good work environment, that he pretty much shouldn't talk about anything other than work and school. How he shouldn't tell his stories because they may be inappropriate to some degree to the other workers; funny to him only. I think he’s about 25. He seemed pretty quiet and uncomfortable during my speech. Answered a question or two with a nod and headshake. *(Warning: Graphic Content)* That night, Will got shot by a woman, who said "Your time is up. This is for your unfiltered joke yesterday. HeII, this is for _everyone_ who knows you. Nobody WANTS you. You deserve to DlE!" And then she stuck a knife into his stomach. *Luckily* the police arrived to arrest her and save Will. He was treated at the hospital _just_ in time. But...what if he wasn't? What if our *_last_* moment was in the office? Yes, I needed to address his behavioral "issue," but I should've been more respectful. More filter, less touching at work? Yeah, but compromise would've been fine. Like, only touching friendly coworkers he gets along great with. It's perfectly natural to causally touch or tap people *without* it being creepy. Will never meant to be that word. He just needed some limits, not all or nothing. I should’ve shown more patience and only given him a very brief and gentle talk in the hall, not a *firm lecture in the office* with his *boss present.* And I shouldn’t have asked her if there anything she wanted to add. So insensitive. Will never meant any discomfort or harm. He only meant to have fun with his coworkers. I made him feel bad, and the assaiIant made it much worse. I have to apologize to him whenever I can, for mishandling the situation. His assauIt is the only thing that made realize what was right.
