Thank you for uploading these. I’m a beginner student and it feels like every pen tester/ hacker comes off as arrogant (at least the ones I’ve met or seen) and I’m just intimidated to ask questions because I feel stupid for asking basic stuff. Thanks for being motivating and encouraging people to learn. This is my passion and I want to learn all I can. Keep up the amazing videos brother👍🏼

Tip: Try every question on a CTF regardless of its points. Sometimes you may get discouraged by looking at high points questions but they are either super simple or super complex yet cool and fun

Are there such things as CTF-style events for systems tuning and optimization or like, I dunno, some sort of extreme troubleshooting events? I think those would be great for people who like this style of learning but aren't really interested in security. I know there's overlap, and I know knowledge gleaned from one might benefit the other, but I get a bigger rush from making things faster and more efficient just through software alone.

I reached Bandit Level 12 → Level 13 after repeatedly reading the Level Goal, man page of suggested commands, scratching my head alot and with some time spending on reading the writeups. but after this level i.e from Bandit Level 13 → Level 14 I just lost the track (this is where the tools such as netcat, nmap got introduced). Even after reading the writeups Im find it hard to really understand the concept. if anyone reading this I hope that you could tell me what did I miss ? I mean what topics should I look into to get getter from here. Thanks

Hello ! I do not have enough time to spend 2 hours on a ctf .. so I try to solve challenges on www.root-me.org regularly and when I have no idea how to do I'm stuck and finally I give up and I move on to another challenge. I do not think it's very constructive to give up on these things because it's precisely on these challenges that I'm supposed to learn the most. How could I still learn from these challenges? Asking for the answer directly does not seem to be a very good solution, and when I ask for help on the root-me irc, even when I just ask a little help to know a little better what to do without give me the answer, at the slightest hint I know what to do next as if I had been given the answer (I mean that I almost feel that I get too big a hint and that it is ultimately not constructive at all for me).
