@@purpleworld4847 hmm.. U just need to add numbers to the step ..so u will remember it and can dance while counting it ..and u need to watch the dance video atleast 3 or 4 times or more so u can remember it and be confident and enjoy dancing hope this helps ;)

1) get the general feel of the dance! Watch it three times and examine. 2) decide the type of dance based on your observations. If it is on the groovier side, learn hand and leg movements together but if it is on the detailed side, learn the movements separately in details. 3) figure oiut the timing. If u do a dance without counts or timing, you can miss beats. So you can either stop the dance frame by frame or put it in slow motion to learn the counts! 4) now learn in slow motion and focus on counts and the connection between moves. 5) focus on learning left and right directions, incase you get confused, watch mirrored dance videos. Brainwash yourself with left, right, left, right, left, right! 6) speak out the moves while learning, it'll help your brain get the basics memorized. 7) examine moves frame by frame. If u r stuck and don't how the move is done, observe it frame by frame. 8) memorize based on lyrics. For example if you are learning a specific move, then see the lyrics so you'll know that when this lyric comes, you have to that step. (You can also come up with s specific story for a set of certain moves that match it well). 9) examine the pathways between each move. A pathway is something that connects two moves. 10) practice a lot with counts and once you are used to it, u can do it with music. 11) watch video again if u forget moves and do it with the video. 12) practice practice and repeat to build muscle memory! 13) finish learning the rest using same methods and VIOLA! TWO TIPS FROM ME: 1] always have fun while dancing created your own techniques and your own style. 2] for slow ballad songs, face towards your movements. For example, there Is a move where you raise you hands up, so while doing that look at your hand while it goes up in slow motion! I have seen many artists do this technique. Also after you can cover dances well, start making your own choreographies.

Thank you for this! I kind of get confused with the countings. Sometimes there is a “and” in between countings (like 7 and 8, compare to 7, 8 😂) but you are right since most of the self taught dancers really depends on the countings in order to easily memorize the steps.
