Thanks, i dont think you need the tool. After its in relearning mode, let air out of each tire until horn beeps, then it will relearn for that tire, after going around pump the tires back up. South main auto just did a video on this!

Because GM hid the menu option ; that makes it not obvious or easy to find. Not exactly intuitive to hold the check button on the basic screen showing tire pressure. At least when new to the system.

I just wanted to say thank you. I took my tire to Sam's club today and used this video to ensure that the tires were property programmed. Without it, I'd have 2 indicators at zero.

This is a great video! Just did this myself. Had an issue where the battery I first used it on was too low for it to work. My last tire, back left, was not resetting as easily, but I finally managed to find the part near the valve stem where it would finally work.

My dude, I just used your video to do this exact thing on my 2018. Snows ready, tpms learnt. Thanks so much for posting this. - fellow Volt owner

Are these tire tools a signal booster? What is it doing to talk to the car?

Very useful explanation for my Volt. Had the relearn tool from my days with my Chevy Cruse! Excellent presentation..many thanks.

I bought the same tool on Amazon. 17 Bolt goes into TPMS mode but tool has no effect. Any advice?

I am having this exact same issue with my 2018 Volt.

Okay I just figured it out. You have to hold the tool against the side of the tire while touching the black tip to the stem. And even then you have to try a variety of angles. It's insane how difficult it was.

r u sure you need the relearn tool? most gm vehicles you can just lower the tire tire pressure until the horn beeps and move to the next tire. of course you will have to re inflate the tires to the pressure you want but thats better than having to buy a tool.

On this car you need to TPMS relearn tool.

I had my tires done at Discount Tire and they told me I would have to have to car on for about 20 min, but days have gone by now, the TPMS is still not showing the tire pressure.
@mr2autoxr3 жыл бұрын
Usually for it to reset and be accurate you need to drive for a couple miles. If your car isn't showing the pressure the sensors weren't reset. If you put new wheels and snow tires on without TPMS sensors in the wheel, then you will not have pressure displayed as there is no sensor in the wheel.

Excellent. So far this is the only video to say that you do it in accessory mode. I’ve been trying to get it work while the car is on this whole time…. Thank you

Thanks so much for your helpful video!! We initially had one tire pressure sensor go out in our Chevy Volt. We decided to replace all four sensors when we got new tires put on. We ordered the sensors and our tire guy could install the sensors for us when he installed the new tires but not able to program them. So we would have to plan on yet another appointment at another shop, so count time off from work, two hours out of our day, then probably $150 standard shop labor for the programming. We got it done in less than 5 minutes thanks to your wonderful video!! Thanks again for helping us save time and money!!

Is there a way to find the dead TPS? The snow tires are mixed up on the vehicle and one of them is dead. How can I find a dead one?
@mr2autoxr Жыл бұрын
Learn all the tpms sensors. The one that's dead won't relearn.

As a new Bolt owner, why do you need to reset TPMS? Sorry for such a dumb question!?!
@mr2autoxr3 жыл бұрын
Each time you rotate your tires you need to do this otherwise the sensors are in the wrong location. Also I live in Michigan and swap to snow tires, and do this again when I install those.

Thank you. Still trying to decide if I’ll need snow tires in Vancouver, BC. Haven’t needed them for last 20 years with All Season tires on 4 Nissan Altima’s. Time will tell and my limited need to drive/commute as well.
