Easy battle gyms and get 50 coins a day, only takes 2 days to get a lucky egg so for 30 minutes every 2 days you can use one. Can use it on a free raid and then the rest of the time try to catch everything with an excellent throw and also keep opening gifts. I took a long break probably at level 35 and I’ve gone up 10 levels in probably just over a year and that’s with only recently grinding hard to get level 50

There is no super fast way without breaking the bank. It’s just not possible. The best free way to level up is adding as many friends as possible to get all of the xp bonuses. But to hit best friends it takes a few months 🤷‍♂️

When you play pokemon go, you do it because you love to do it. Levels aren't everything in the game, some players have a lower level but good pokemon, and some have a high level but bad pokemon. Everyone plays pokemon in their own way, play the way you want and don't look at other players or you will lose your courage.

One thing to consider about leveling up - your trainer level is almost completely irrelevant. It is the Pokémon level that matters more. So basically someone who levels up extremely fast will have little stardust to power up and few poke on worthwhile of powering up.

One of the things i would like to say is that if you are in an area with way too many pokemons, it might be bad to keep taking your time to do Excellent throws when you can get all pokemons with a Great Throw much faster and pick up way more pokemons.

I think if you practice, you’ll still be better off going for excellent throws XP wise. You get 10x the XP getting an excellent throw as you do for getting a great throw. If you can land 1 excellent throw in less time than it would take you to get 10 great throws, the you are getting XP faster and more efficiently. Even if you only hit an excellent throw on every third throw, it’s still way better XP wise than getting all Great throws

Target the right Pokémon for excellent throws. Sounds easy but big ones like Tangela, Grimer and Lickitung are very hard X throws. Slowpoke, Psyduck, Mareep Machop, Meowth, Hitmonchan, Jynx, Aipom are all extremely common spawns that are catchable and sit a perfect distance to wind up and hit.

There is one tangible advantage to getting level 50. Trades. It's rare to want to trade a pokemon above level 40, but if you do, the level of pokemon you can receive is capped at your trainer level. Level 40 trainers can only receive level 40 pokemon or below.

slight edit... Apparently trainers can receive pokemon up to 2 levels higher than their trainer level. And one website (pokemon go fandom) claims that a trainer can receive a pokemon up to 5 levels higher than their trainer level if that pokemon was *originally* *caught* *weather* *boosted* . I haven't tested this theory though. My original point still stands though. Level 50 (or I guess level 48+) trainers can receive any level pokemon in trades. Lower levels (like me) cannot. The best use for eggs is for the 2x Evolution spotlight hours. It's a grind but I've found that if you're well prepared (I created a FlushEvo tag, so I'm ready and evolve one after another, without searching for the next) you can squeeze out 600000 Xp in that hour (about 150 Pokémons, more if you double evolve some). Of course it takes up some space in my inventory, but most of these are transfered after the event. I mostly keep high level Pokémons (more on that later), which are either cheap/free to evolve, totally useless or that I have a lot of candies for (my psychological treshold is at least 1000 candies). The event helps, but you can do it anytime, it's just less profitable. And to be clear, I've never bought any eggs in game. Buy using 2-3 eggs per month, my reserve is somewhat stable/slowly descending. As for the reason to keep higher levels for these events, if you evolve for example 4 level 30+ Dratinis @ 25 candies a pop and transfer them, you have a chance to get 1, 2 or even 3 XL candies (rarely 0 or 4). It's a pretty sure shot way to beat the 100 regular -> 1 XL exchange rate of the game. ;) Higher the level, higher the chances to score XLs. Using an egg for a one time "Best friend" isn't worth it IMHO, and the new "Use egg" button that Niantic added mostly serve to make us spend them... and buy more. 🤷‍♂

You can bump the evolution xp up by doing 2 stage evolution pokemon particularly machop, gastly, abra and geodude with the free sec9nd evolution from trade. Not having to select a new pokemon and going straight into a second evolution saves time and you can get 5-6 evolutions every 2min. At 5 it'll get you 300k xp per 30min / lucky egg on spotlight hour.

The colored ring has to be 30% or less of the Grey Circle for a "Excellent" throw to be able to register. 31-70% of the full circle is a "Great" throw Anything 71% to full is a "nice" throw. No name throws hit outside of the Colored circle Boundary.

And a friendly reminder - XP scales per level. We needed 20 million for level 40 and 176 million for level 50. Thats 8.8 times more XP. The leap to level 60 will be greater. Going low it wouldn't be too wild with 12 times or even 15 times more xp and that means 2 122 000 000 to 2 640 000 000 XP. And that's most likley too low. So get gathering!

I remember there was a 2× friendship XP during an event, so with a lucky egg you would get 400k XP when you become best friends. Haven't seen that bonus in a while so it's probably one of those rare bonuses that they don't release often

Would be nice to know what the biggest size of an excellent throw circle is on any given pokemon. Often I end up going a fair amount smaller than what it needs to be, which makes an excellent throw harder. Niantic should change the color of the circle for each throw. At least then I’d be able to time it better. ⭕️

I know this really doesn't help with your question much... The colored ring must be 30% or less than the Grey ring to count for a Excellent throw. If the colored ring is 70-31% of the Grey ring its a Great throw. Full ring to 71% is a Nice throw. No name throws register when the pokéball hits outside of the Colored ring.

These past weeks have been insane for me! Part 1 of ultra unlock with the 4x XP, I gained about 13M XP in those 5 days, nearly 6M just during Tynamo comm day alone. Then yesterday doing around 100 Mega Lucario raids all on a lucky egg granted me another 6M XP or so! I started at 13.7M/21M XP to level 48, and I'm now at 32M/21M.

One correction: With proper use of the tags and the "evolve" search term, you should be able to get about 2.5 evolutions a minute, 150ban hour, 600,000 XO an hour. If you don't while walking around a park with an auto catcher, 660,000 is achievable. The key is to drop the eggs at the start, get into your list of mons tagged to evolve, and just grind without scrolling or going back to the map. But, good list. I always feel that the 2X XP spotlight hour is often overlooked.

11:20 that's why i did the stupid thing few years ago at lvl46, to cap my lvl50 pokemon at two, so i only had the "power up 3 pokemon to their maximum level" at 2/3 until i hit the lvl50 xp requirements (176 million) i kept my pokemon at lvl49,5 so one power up shy from maximum. that way i still had the usability of lvl50 mons, without going over that limit. then after i hit that xp after 3 years, it took only 10 weeks to get trough the tasks and hit lvl50. then again i have to ask what was i doing that tree years not to get that missing 76 million xp sooner. seeing how i have now gotten from 176 million (September 2023) to 250 million xp (end of July 2024) so i have gotten extra 74 million xp on that time. based on that, i should have hit lvl50 on around mid 2021 already.

I am really dreading the introduction of lvl 60. So, for the last power up to lvl 50 any mon, it takes 20 xl candies. Assuming it still takes two power ups per level and that the XL candy stays at 20 per power up, it would take 696 xl candy to lvl 60 a pokemon.. add 20% more for a shadow.. and think about the star dust.. i dont wanna feel like i have to grind this hard... would also completely flip pvp on its head. All of a sudden you are gunna need lvl 60 pokemon to fight in any of the leagues and would make alot of pokemon useless bc they dont reach a high lvl at their cp cap.

The game really needs to be more friendly for free to play folks but then how would Niantic stuff their pockets. I had a 7 year old 10$ gift card that I used but that’s it. It would make PvP unplayable unless they bring back classic cups. Cheaters will have all the level 60 Pokémon within like 3 days whilst everyone else will have to grind for years. Every time I have built a level 50 Pokémon in the past for UL by the time I've got enough XLs it drops out of meta the next season examples include talonflame and abomasnow took me about a year or 2 to get each one next thing you know they no longer have play. I've learnt unless you have some way of magically getting 296 XLs within 2-3 seasons of it becoming meta you may as well not bother.

Sadly I was at work on the rayquaza make up raid day but I got off during the last hour at 6pm I immediately ran to the park and was able to do like 5 or 6 raids that hour. Using pokiegenie I was able to get 10 new friends for each of those so each raid was like nearly 100k xp per raid. No wonder I'm already so close to 43. Still no hundo rayquaza and i still only have enough mega energy to mega 2/3 meteorites i have. What a dumb system for mega energy.

i cant believe you didnt mention pokestops. i live on top of 4 of them and my autocatcher is just sitting there on autospin. its 50 xp every pokestop so for me its 200 every 5 mins or 2400 every hour or 57600 every day for not even playing. f you only have access to one pokestop thats 14400 xp a day. you could manually spin them but i sugest investing in an autocatcher since the game heavily favours p2w.
