Ideally, unless you plan on relobbying constantly to reroll the moveset, 2x Excadrill + 1 support Gengar is the move. The ONLY move Gengar wants to soak up is Power Up Punch; everything else, Excadrill wants to take on. If it has Wild Charge as it's party-wide move, it's not worth the stress and a relobby should just be an automatic go. If, however, it has Acid Spray as its spread move, then a level 40 Excadrill will probably last long enough for the GiganToxtricity to either be defeated, or go berserk. If it has Acid Spray, you actually WOULDN'T want to waste time on Max Guard, since it's single-target move would actually do more damage (unless it's Gengar tanking Power-Up Punch, but that'd still be niche), and a single support heal should take care of Acid Spray between Dynamaxes. So, the absolute most valid strategy? Reroll until it has Acid Spray, bring at LEAST one heal-per-Dynamax per team, and then just stomp the hell out of it, laugh and repeat.

After watching so many people at the in person event Excadrill almost seems like a bad option. It's not bulky enough to take the hits and Metagross still seems like the good option because psychic moves still hit super effective and its a lot thicker than excadrill.

Plus shields aggro the attacks towards you so be careful and the japan report was 6 players not 4 was the minimum players that actually defeated it. Plus it has a fighting move that can hit hard excadrill but metagross can hold it.

NOTE: Because the Amped Up and Low Key Toxtricity had identical GMAX forms, the form you're getting will be random. Good luck getting the right Shundo GMax Tox you ever need. Imagine needing Amped shundo but ended up being Low Key.

I would argue Dynamax/gigantamax isn’t endgame content, it’s just starting over for a new mechanic. Endgame implies what you’ve done during the game helps toward it, but we have to catch all new Pokemon we already have thousands of for this

It's really annoying how these Gigantamax battles are so insanely difficult that you need a lot of people to do them. Even grinding to get new Pokemon in Max Battles is a bit annoying. The battles themselves are quick and fun, but like you mentioned, all of your other Pokemon are useless, which basically means you have to collect more Pokemon, candies and Max Particles to really work with this mechanic. Even the Max Particles being at a low limit per day makes it more difficult to power up Pokemon. Niantic says that they want to encourage more outdoor in person play, but they definitely want people to buy Max Particle packs instead. I doubt that I'll be able to have enough people doing Toxtricity battles in my area this weekend too.

I’ve done about 100 Charmander raids alone and still no hundo. I powered up everything good and now it’s just using everything on raids till I get something else. Good to completely start over and build it up again. 😅
