I show how to properly light a liquid gas stove.
The generator needs to be preheated to vapourise the gas inside to tube which will then expel the fuel as gas that can then be easily flame controlled.
The stove that I use in this video is the Lixada Multi-Fuel stove which is similar to the MSR Whisperlite and the Primus Omnifuel stove.
The process for lighting these stoves is the same used for a Coleman Naphtha ("White Gas") stove.

They are fun! I like the big ball of fire you get at the start when preheating🔥🔥 My research on these told me that the liquid gas stoves do indeed perform better in really cold weather so that influenced my purchasing decision. Thank you for taking a look😁😁

I'll show that in another video. These are fun stoves with the prelight phase because of the big fireballs🔥🔥

Nice stove. A stove of that style is almost mandatory in winter conditions. I myself do not have such a stove yet. I have to think about which one to buy. I will possibly buy a Trangia multi fuel stove, because it would work for my self-made or modified stoves.

Good tutorial. I tend to make a lot of videos with my head cut off 😂 Is naphtha better in cold weather than butane?
@agesadventures
@agesadventures 2 ай бұрын
Naphtha is probably the best performer in really cold weather. Next would be Propane, the IsoButane, and Butane for summer use. I don't believe that Butane works below freezing. You need to heat up the bottle before you could use it.

The fuel pump on this version has the intake tube that is straight and not curved to one side like the MSR stoves. I would need to flip the bottle upside down to get air into the line and have the fuel removed. I will try that to see if that works. It should do like you say. You're right. Preheating with alcohol will also probably keep the nozzle clean to so there will be less maintenance to clean the stove afterwards. I do have a stopper with the bottle. That makes sense to make sure the hot burner is no where near when releasing pressure form the bottle. That's scary that you burnt your hands like that! Hopefully, your hands are ok now.

@user-cf3ld8nl6x 2 ай бұрын

@@user-cf3ld8nl6x When I next have the burner out I'll check to see if it can be bent. It may not be able to be bent without breaking it. I'm not sure it matters though because I could just turn the bottle upside down. I'm glad it was just your hands and not more of you that got burnt! I like that name "Shaitan-machine". The Devil's Device has a nice sound to it😁

@user-cf3ld8nl6x
@user-cf3ld8nl6x 2 ай бұрын

Nice demonstration Age! I haven’t tried a Liquid gas stove before. I have a pocket rocket and I use a canister of fuel, so that’s what I’m used to. I have seen other people use liquid gas, but didn’t know how it works. Do you use this style for just car camping or do you take it out backpacking? Thanks, Jen 👍👍🔥🔥
@agesadventures
@agesadventures 2 ай бұрын
They are fun stoves to use! If you like to cook outdoors in the cold, they are the best performers for that. The canister fuel will have issues when it gets too cold. This one I use mostly for car camping, but it's not too heavy to fit in a pack. These are great for bigger pots and pans and are really sturdy. I have a stove similar to the pocket rocket and I also have one even smaller, the BRS3000T. I have these in my pack most of the time. They are a little more compact. If I were to go on longer trips (or trips abroad), I'd take this stove. It can burn pretty much any type of fuel. I'll be showing that in another video with the different fuel sources and how versatile it is.
