Great video man, I always find it tricky to balance lighting the face accurately while not over-rendering it. Cheers for the help

This was good, I mean really fuck’n good! Being able to locate & visually read photo references for light source & then transfer that to the comic/manga environment can be difficult - sometimes intimidating. I know this is not a step by step, but as a “practical” approach for a starting point, this is absolutely brilliant!! Thank You

Thanks for your tutorials. Although this is not the first I like from you, I have a general question about shading a face: how do you manage the relationship with the lineart? I mean: how do you decide about a black lineart conflicting with shadows? Should black lines be kept at a minimum before shadowing? when black lines should stay ? I hope you understand my question.

KMR you are a life saver! I've been looking for a breakdown of face lighting and ran into the same images but seeing you render was really helpful. Also didn't know that the triangle was called Rembrandt lighting thanks!

Thank you sooooo much for this! I am in that part in my drawing where I am happy with my lines and I can decently put on flats and so I reeeeally wanted to put shadows and highlights in them next so this really helps a lot!

Hello, KMR, I'm a big fan of your tutorials, honestly! There's one thing I wanted to ask though. Why are you using a brush after selecting certain parts by lasso, instead of just filling them with bucket? Is it to add a fading effect? Then why not to simply use a gradient? Thank you!

Hello. Can you color without a tablet? I use just a mouse and using the lasso tool is difficult.
