Soak some of that paper with some cooking oil, the flame will last a lot longer and burn hotter. I usually just use a napkin and soak it in canola oil , works every time.

$22.00 dollars for six pounds of charcoal? Seems like a pretentious hipster lifestyle happening event. I'll stick to Kingsford. $9.00 for 16 pounds.

Totally understandable! I use both, but I find Ogatan burns much hotter and much longer. Both have their applications, but I like the Ogatan for long nights of grilling.

@@KnifewearKnives Ogatan Burns hotter? So what are you cooking that you need an excess of 500 - 600 degrees for? As far as burning longer, I remedy that by just throwing more briquettes on. But you do you!

Japanese coal doesn’t smoke.. therefore can be used inside you amateur..

@@Etienne_H - Whatever. If you want to pay that much money for charcoal merely so that you can grill indoors instead of using electricity or natural gas like the rest of the world, you go right ahead. I'm sure your chicken and fish will taste so much better than mine due to the high amounts of pretentiousness imparted by the Kichu Binchotan Charcoal. さようなら

@@donmiller2908 Gas got no favorable aroma. And if anything is pretentious, it's that cheap chicken got anything to contribute to fine dining. Add to that I live in an apartment. It's either this or no legit grilling period. Cause for using a gas grill, you might as well use a pan in the kitchen… same flavour..
