What if i have an open kitchen lounge space? The brighter kitchen lights will mess with my ambient light.

Good question! 1. Are the kitchen lights on a different circuit, so can you switch them off when not in use? 2. Can you put a dimmer on the kitchen lights to make them less bright when you are not in the kitchen? 3. For the kitchen, can you use directed task lighting over work surfaces, such as under-cabinet lights, which focus light where you need it most? Then you can work in the kitchen area without turning on strong overhead lights that can overwhelm the entire space! 4. Can you make sure the kitchen light colour is the same colour temperature as the rest of the lights in the open room, so when they are all switched on, at least they look the same colour?
