I am new to Blender and one of the things I find particularly mind-boggling when I watch these kinds of how-to videos is the use of nodes. How does one know which node to add and where to attach them where there are so many options and combinations? It seems a little difficult to comprehend when starting out..
@HobbitVFX3 жыл бұрын
yeah it was rlly quite difficult for me starting out aswell, but I'm 3yrs in now, so I have a decent understanding of nodes, even tho I haven't tried to master them. Theres great tutorials online taking u step by step through the very basics, if U stick at it, you'll be able to create whatever u want
@kronos5482 жыл бұрын
2 years in myself, after a bit you start to figure out what does what, my advise is when watching tutorials think about the "why" your doing certain things with the nodes, and try and pick up bits here and there you can use in your own projects

I’m more than happy to answer questions here in comments, will probably help out others aswell! As for the question, it depends on the shot, generally I’ll make the planet in 3d then render it out and import it back in as an image, to save a lot on render times, u can see I did this with kylo ren travels to korriban animation, obviously if ur viewing it from more than 1 angle in the same shot, then it needs to be 3d

Hi Paul, thanks alot, Ive created tutorials on how I light my space scenes and how to make ship animations, these are what I do in every space project, but sometimes more advanced. You have some nice animations on your channel, although im not too familiar with non star wars sci-fi, they're really cool anyways. I am right in saying that your using eevee, I would suggest trying to use cycles for far better lighting results, also try not to track the camera to a single point on a ship, it looks far more appealing if its not, best of luck!
