Hi Ahmed, the best advice we can give you is to start learning more about the Primavera P6 database schema. It will tell you how the different tables are connected (by primary and foreign fields) and then you can model them in power BI. Hi @abdainawi Yeah I know what you mean! P6 database can be a bit complex. The best advice we can give you is that you search for Primavera P6 database schema on google.. it will give you a bit of background on how P6 DB is built up. We will try to upload more videos on the subject too!

Sure, once you get the SQL connection in place, the next thing is to learn about the Primavera P6 database schema, so you can learn how to model (connect) the different tables. The schema will tell you how the different tables are connected (by primary and foreign fields) and then you can model them in power BI. Hello have you tried to publish the PBI and refreshed the data in PBI cloud? I getting an error and not refreshing

Hi Alfred, no it wont work if you refresh it in PBI cloud. This is a connection between your SQL server (local drive) and your Power BI, so PBI Service refreshes wont come thorugh (because it is a connection made in your desktop computer). If you want to refresh it online, you would need to either 1) set up a gateway or 2) configure your P6 in a SQL online (like Azure).

Hi bro... Were you able find a way to connect to cloud version of Primavera... If so please can you help me with steps or point me to a right direction... Hi Shabih, no worries. If you want to connect to a cloud database you would need an API. The API could be provided by the vendor or (if you are a programmer) you could build it yourself using the vendor documentation for APIs.

Hi Blse2000, there many ways to make that type of connection but I recommend you look for your IT department advice. You could create a query (at Database management level) to pull data from the P6 tables in Azure Cloud and to run this query every day or every hour. Then you can bring the query output to power bi by using a Azure Database connection. But as I said, this goes into the realm of IT.
