You teach like Dora the explorer but I appreciate you regardless

I've heard that a couple times. Lol. It's more of the cheerleader in me, but hey, as long as people are having fun and learning, that's all that matters. :)

Do you have one for hearing Time Signature?
@MusiciansAddition Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't. It can be hard to figure some of them out, like hearing the difference between 4/4, 2/4, and even 2/2. You can tell the difference between 4/4, 3/4, and if you've played long enough, 6/8. My suggestion would be to get the metronome once you figure out the tempo, and try to see if the song fits 4/4. If it doesn't quite fit, try 3/4. Play around, count out loud and see what fits best.

and I have another problem too .beats and drums are easy to find but the melody itself is confusing to count.some have 2 bar some have 8 and classicals seems unlimited ! I mean the repeating term (looping) is not helping in melody a lot is there any other way to understand the tempo and rhythm of a sample

what if the tempo be 140 but the drums playing like 70 is it 70? a lot of modern songs are like this they write it on double but it feels half

Is there a particular song you are looking at? It'll help me explain it if we look at that song.

@@MusiciansAddition like , a lot of new electronic or trap or dubstep songs i dont know like gucci mane - trap house Its written originally in double tempo but feels slow

So I don't really follow rap or Dub, so I asked my producer friend. He said to always listen to the drums. They are the ones that set the pace and the tempo.

Also, in the beginning you explain moderato as 108 - 120 and allegro as 109 - 132. So they're the same thing? The back of my Korg metronome has a list of tempos. It says moderato is 108 - 120 and allegro is *120 - 168*. I get that vivace falls under allegro as kind of a subcategory.
