sorry man i know fish attracted to scent and live bait but it's cruel to see a live squid as bait..the squid see the fish and know his in trouble so pick a dead squid man..we are wildlife savior to man want a bait bait find a dead squid not live squid.

the difference is if the squid is in the hook it would feel pain and cannot defend it self..that all i can tell you..

You're obviously uneducated either way. Fish are more attracted to the distress signals sent out by the squid. It is still possible to hook Kingfish on dead squid but it is less effective and you would have to rig it up to swim so you can jig it as they prefer moving fish that are under distress, thus making live fish or squid the best option. Squid are actually mollusks, so they are not fish, meaning that when they experience pain from a wound it is not as intense as a fish because they have a full-body centered nervous system, which means they hurt throughout their whole body but in a light/humming way. Thank you for your concern, but it is all about the food chain and this is not something you need to worry about. Focus on over-fishing, pollution and the seas rising in pH.
