For those who think they can not afford to save even 5%, I suggest you consider 1%, it should not hurt and then in 3-6 month up the amount to 2%, once you have adjusted to that then in 3-6 month go to 3% and keep going until you get to 10-20%. As you find new ways to save, spend less, this will insure your savings increase to represent that amount. Mark each 3-6 month increment on a calendar so you do not forget to make the change upward. Work for me, hope it works for you.

Once you get into debt, it can take years and even decades to get out of it. Don't use credit cards unless you have to for an emergency. Have an emergency fund always. It's better to do without some luxuries than to be in debt. All it takes is an illness, accident, job loss, or recession to get into debt. Debt destroys your life.

I have stopped cooking pasta in a pan. I heat the same amount of water in a frying pan. More surface exposed to heat and quicker heating time. Always always use a lid. Put the salt in after the water starts simmering. No need for a rolling boil. The salt delays the water reaching boiling point. Tons of tiny things that all add up.
@LaraJoannaJarvis Жыл бұрын
Great tip! Thanks so much for sharing that!! x

What?!? I was told adding salt to your water will help it reach boiling point faster😮
@xXJesuslovesyouXx10 ай бұрын
I googled it: In terms of cooking, most individuals normally add about a teaspoon (3g) of salt per liter of water. Adding this small amount of salt will “technically” make the water boil faster, however, it would only result in a difference no more than a few seconds.
@fuzzylon9 ай бұрын
Bear in mind that if you are using a bigger ring for your fying pan then you're drawing more current while it's on than a saucepan would on a smaller ring. My top tip is to turn the ring right the way off once the pasta is boiling. If the lid is on the water will stay hot enough to cook the pasta through.

I am soon to be a first time mother and I find it really sad that I’ve seen baby formulas in shops being security tagged and hearing that mothers out there can’t afford to buy formula and they try to steal it. Among this baby products are very expensive is there any advice you can give or tips on buying discounted baby products? I’ve downloaded some apps which are great, but I was wondering if you might consider making a video on how to save on baby products?
@LaraJoannaJarvis Жыл бұрын
Such a coincidence you mention this because I saw this on the news and it was deeply upsetting. I feel so sad for any mother's/parents who need to do this and that the prices for it are not subsidised or discounted. I wish there was something I could do to help. I can look into this though and see if I can come up with anything to help; good idea! xx

If you can Breast Feed ( it's free) if you can't BF with the baby attached, then use a breast pump and feed the baby that way.. Also as suggested above, there are plenty of schemes and help for new mums. Make sure have everything filled in before the baby comes. Ps. The baby doesn't need fancy and brand new clothes for the first 3 months. Hand me downs ( good condition) is fine. The baby will just want to be warmed and loved and feed and with mum. Second hand or hand me downs ( in good condition is fine).

@@petermorhead4160 Yes it is, But sometimes either baby doesn't latch (mine) and the only way to get the good stuff in them is bottle, plus at least dad can help with the feeding. It's the milk part that's important.

I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled goal..

It takes A LOT of discipline and to avoid social events especially Summertime. A few cocktails and dinner on a night can cost over $100. Curb your vices such as shopping due to boredom and buying food out. It isn't the greatest feeling in the moment to miss out on fun. However, having money at all times is a much better feeling. People get discouraged but any amount of savings is better than paycheck to paycheck..

I've been doing this and more for years! I don't even own a t.v. I HAVE to cook everything myself, due to severe food allergies. My phone bill is as cheap as they come. I haven't bought a new stitch of clothing in more than 5 years. I have absolutely no subscriptions, no gym membership, etc. I don't drink alcohol, because my father is an alcoholic and my mother is allergic. My rent is the lowest I could find in the area. I haven't bought anything online since my wedding 15 years ago, which we did NOT go into debt for. I, carefully, use the cash back apps for groceries and gas. And I ran my last car into the ground, currently using every last bit of my current one up as well! So, no actual tips for the actual poor here either!
