How much if you buy a house over there and how much monthly payments?
@BiikandKuting5 ай бұрын
So our house cost about P800,000 that's $16,000. The wife put the down payment of P36,000 thats $720 and the gave her 9 months to pay in installment. And the monthly is about P5,000 or $100 for 30 years. But it could have paid the $16,000 in cash then no loan needed. Corner lots cost a little more.

Exploring budget living in Cavite, Philippines 🇵🇭, from $500 to $1000 a month is a fantastic topic! Covering essentials like mortgages, utilities, and food expenses sheds light on practical ways to manage finances effectively. Thanks for sharing these valuable insights my friend and Kabayan Biik and Kuting!

@BiikandKuting5 ай бұрын
You definitely need to think hard on what you want in life. What is important and what you can comprise on. That will help you decide where to be in the Philippines. If you have any questions at all, I'll answer honestly as long as I know the answer. Stay safe.

That’s what i said to my hubby his retirement 2k is more than enough for both of us especially we are living in rural area
@BiikandKuting5 ай бұрын
Definitely. 2k a month would still let you live very nicely with things and lifestyle you're used to in the West. Especially for you guys who are used to life in Alaska. You already deal with the rarity of normal items and crazy cost of Western items. Stay safe

We had a nice condo in QC for $170 a month. That came with a nice indoor pool and small gym, and it was close to shopping. Street food was fantastic also, further keeping our expenses down.
@BiikandKuting5 ай бұрын
That sounds pretty nice. When I came to the Philippines the first time I stayed in SM towers in QC, it was nice, but since it was more short-term, it was about $500. Still, having everything right there was nice.
@phbhf5 ай бұрын
@@BiikandKuting We were in the EDSA Grand Residence on Corregidor - a few blocks down from SM mall. I am not sure where the SM towers are. I think we got a real good deal because we moved in when the building was only about 1/3rd finished and we signed a year lease. Probably the prices are higher now.
@BiikandKuting5 ай бұрын
The towers are in Sta Mesa, if I remember. You're very wise getting in on the pre-sale. That's what Kuting did when she bought this house before I was with her while she worked the call centers.

Thank you very much. It would be wonderful to retire here just as long as you know what the differences between here and your home are. I had to think hard about what compromise on.

Wow,just wow,i wish i could be strong enough,couragious enough to take such a leap, but i guess im too "attatched" to things that i do not even need. But most of all i have to admit im attatched to security this place offers me. I was born and brought up in africa so i know what it`s like to be without and i worked my tail off over the years to be where iam today.Im ok going away for a while but just dropping everything and going away for an extended period scares me. Still, thanks so,so much for sharing,gives me an idea on how life could be simple if i was not to attatched to the security I have here. I have dreamt of relocating for so long but then i think "I fought so hard to get here, why would i give up and maybe come back and start from scratch" Stay safe both of you,always a pleasure

I completely understand that feeling. I remember it was hard enough back in the day just moving from one state to another, leaving one good job for what I hoped was a better job. But I have had the experience of moving a lot throughout my childhood and adult life, which makes it easier. Also, I have had lots of hardship where I've started back from nothing, even homeless at one point. But the easiest reason I was able to just jump into it this time is the fact I didn't have a decent life back in the USA. So this was a way for a better life I could actually afford and be happy in for the rest of my life, knowing I'm finally permanently stable here. And I have a gorgeous wife.

philippines is cheap if u have dollars. and most people here treat foreigners with respect. we welcome foreign, we are friendly people
@BiikandKuting5 ай бұрын
Very true, it's all about the lifestyle you want. But yes, 99% of locals are very friendly it's the foreigners you gotta watch out for.. Also, you just gotta learn their quirks or differences. For example, if a local doesn't understand you or your question, the answer will be yes, even if it's a no. Lol
