Thanks mate, I just got on Streamyard and ran first several test broadcasts. As of this date (Jan 11, 2021) Streamyard says FB is having problems with their support for Streamyard, so I was wondering about going live on youtube instead. A great tutorial of StreamYard, even better than another I saw recently. Great to see and hear a Liverpudlian who is a Fabs' fan, and who also plays. QUESTIONS - 1. I am curious what screen capture software you used to 'show' StreamYard - does SY itself have a feature that can do this? 2. Can one route an audio file through StreamYard? For example, if I want to play a bit of an .mp3 or .WAV (or some other format of sound file) from my computer, can StreamYard route that internally to the live recording? Thanks again.

Mr. SteJ when I set up a scheduled event and plan to stream live on several different platforms. How do I tell people on different social media sites where the LIVE event will be, other than KZbin? In other words, will there be a countdown thumbnail on Facebook, Linked IN , Periscope AND KZbin? Or just on KZbin?

Hey John! I added the music afterwards. One solution would be to either have it actually playing in the room or on a website (when sharing your browser). They're not the best solutions but if you're looking for something with more options try OBS (it's free).

Yeah! Just set the stream up and set it as unlisted. Then hit the 'view on youtube' link (it's in the menu when you click the button next to 'Go Live') and share that link with them

Oh my goodness, you seem so familiar to me like we have met somewhere. I am from Texas but I do live on a yacht and sailing around the world. I really enjoyed this for content and the way you presented it. I am a newbie to live-streaming and to date have only used 1 service at a time like Facebook, You Tube and Instagram live. This software allows live-streaming across multi platforms which is way cool. I have a question please. When you invite other musicians to participate in your live-stream, is there any delay ? therefore making it impossible to play together live. Peter.

Hey Peter, thanks so much for the kind words! As for inviting other musicians, yes you will get a delay unfortunately. I think I mentioned a possible solution I'd come across in the comments here, but for Streamyard I'd only use it for solo performances.

Once you have it all setup in streamyard, and it's setup as a premiere if we made the announcement public, what do we need to do in our KZbin Channel Studio in the section where the live videos are listed, when it's time to go live at the set time we scheduled it for? I read something on the streamyard website about a stream key but I don't understand what to do with it? Thank you for any help you can,provide.

Hey, you shouldn’t need to do anything within KZbin itself. You hit the ‘Go Live’ button within Streamyard. You won’t go live until you hit that button even if the scheduled time ticks over. Regarding the other bit - you don’t need a streamkey to just stream to KZbin :)

Hi MrSteJ. Me and colleagues have been using a couple of times Streamyard. I play keyboards and sing. I use a small mixer to output the sound into the pc. However, I have seen the live recording in Facebook and the sound of the music is not what I expected. I had previously tested streaming live directly from FB, but when streaming through Streamyard it is different. The sound is bad. I first thought that maybe it would be due to another person was in the studio with me, but we tested removing that person and leaving me alone, but that did not help. Any idea why this happens?

Hey Orlando, hmm I'm not quite sure. Stupid question but are you selecting the right source for your mic audio? For me, I have the option to select my sound card so anything that goes into that (for example my mixer) would get picked up.

I was just doing a virtual chat with Dana at SY, asking if one could open computer files (like .jpgs), and - particulary - if one could open an audio file and have SY route it to the live stream. Unfortunately, neither of those is possible, which, is a bit of a bummer. At least one can open a file (I think) with OBS.

One solution to that is to open the audio file up in a browser and share the screen, making sure you enable the 'share audio' box. On your other question (from your other comment) I used my mac's screen recording feature!

@@drutgat2 No, just literally drag the music file into an open browser and it should play within the browser. You'll then have the option of sharing that browser tab within StreamYard (making sure you check the 'share audio' box)
