I don't have a truck camper. I don't even have a truck! But I enjoyed watching someone doing this as I've always wondered how one might do it. Thanks for the video!

You hit the nail on the head with this video....removing the tailgate is one of the worst things about having a truck camper...since you've been leaving the tailgate on have you had any damage at all? Have you looked at other campers whereby you could do the same thing?

Love this video as I’m about to receive a 2024 F450 and an AF1150. Indeed, loading the camper without removing the tailgate is a plus, but since you do it, have you ever experienced any issue with the tailgate because of vibrations or bumping onto the bottom of the camper when driving on rough roads, and getting damaged one way or another? Thanks for replying, Ollivier

Your center of gravity appears to be behind the axle. Is that correct and is it safe? I always thought it had to be even with axle or just forward of axle. I’m a newbie and trying to understand. Thanks

Dang I was happy to see this video hoping never to remove my tailgate... unfortunately my 2006 host tahoe 10.5 is not long enough to clear the tailgate maybe 5 or 6 inches from the holding tank... Thanks thou!

Will this work for an Arctic Fox 865 on a 2024 Chevy Silverado with a 6'9" bed? I'm going to guess no.

Loaded to camp with a motorcycle on the front hitch I'm running about 14,500lbs.

You save a log of problems by not removing the tailgate. I leave my camper on all the time, if my truck bed was 4 inches longer I could leave the tailgate on, and it would close. On the 2024 Chevrolet 2500hd I not only had to relocate my tailgate camera, but had to get a tailgate harness to plug in the truck tailgate connection, to keep the blind side/rear cross traffic working. The days of the simple tailgate are gone! 🙄

How does your truck handle the camper? I have a 2020 F450 and was looking at similar campers.
@thestorytellerstravels3249 Жыл бұрын
It's heavy and you can feel it, but it's fine to drive one handed at 75.

No it doesn't. We have Mud flaps.

Lost me with truck bed camera. I am leaning towards a concrete pad and paint lines that I have to line the truck up on before dropping the camper so I know to line it up on the lines before backing under the camper.

I don’t think the tailgate cables would be over taxed.
