Is that black diamond plate from the manufacture of that camper or did you guys add that?
@FoxPartyOf3 Жыл бұрын
That is straight from the manufacturer. Top notch Northwood Mfg/Arctic Fox! I never thought about it until you said something, but I might have thought the same thing myself. Thanks for your question!

This is definitely a great loading video. I got tired of this fight every time we had to load our northern lite so i broke down and got a c&m skirted flat bed with removable bed boxes.

Good job. Excellent advise regarding getting a dually and the ability to move the camper front to back and side to side by lowering the side you want to bring closer.

Excellent. Question. Do you remove your tag from the truck and place it in the camper ?,or you have two tags ? I have a camper too ,I transfer my tag all the time,but when I forget,it mean trouble.is possible to have two tags with same info? .Tk
@FoxPartyOf36 ай бұрын
That is an excellent question! The state of Texas issues 2 tags but requires them to be on the front and rear of the vehicle. So we do put them on the camper because it would not be visible if it stayed on the rear bumper of the truck. We use twist ties to put it on the camper and we will remove it and place it on the rear bumper of the truck whenever we drop the camper. Hope that helps! And thanks for your questions and taking the time to comment!

Great video and thanks for the tip about using the jacks to "cheat" to center the camper a bit better, we will be trying this for sure. Also, loved your comment about buying the dually truck first because you wanted more truck then camper. That is exactly what we did. I've now watched all of your videos and you are living the dream that my spouse and I are going to embark on in the near future. I hope to learn from your channel with tips, tricks and things to do and not to do. LOL Safe Travels and enjoy the journey

Just subscribed to your channel and we are enjoying your content! We have a 2021 Lance 1172 on a 2020 F-350 Power Stroke dually. If we can load in 15-20 minutes we’re doing good. We are in Texas and we don’t see many truck campers here. I believe you said in one of your videos you purchased your camper at Princess Craft. I was stationed at Georgetown prior to retirement but we’ve moved back to far north Texas. Safe travels and may God bless!
@FoxPartyOf32 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment and for subscribing! Wally has been backing trailers and loading boats since he was a young boy so the truck camper is really just an extension of that. The more you do it, the better and faster you will get at it. Nothing wrong with 15-20 minutes as long it’s done right and you are satisfied! You are correct! The good people at Princess Craft sold us The Fort and we rely on them for service, when needed. Thanks again for the comment and happy travels!

Thank you Great Video, I have the same truck and an AF1150 but had to add a platform in the bed to prevent the camper from resting on the bed rails. It looks like you have added a rubber mat but I couldn't tell from the video if you had any clearance between the top of the bed rails and the camper.
@FoxPartyOf32 жыл бұрын
We do have a 1” rubber mat in the bed of the truck along with another 1/4” rubber mat. We’ve not measured but am guessing about 3” to 4” of clearance between the camper and bed rails of the truck.
@garyh70482 жыл бұрын
@@FoxPartyOf3 OK, that makes sense. I built a frame from redwood 2x6s with a slab of solid foamular 1 1/2" in the middle. PS I agree the Dually makes all the difference for an enjoyable, secure ride!

in the past i have put a piece of 1/2 x 4 between the rails & camper to fill in the gap. My train of thought was to slow down dynamic loading. Any camper experts out there? Is it better to let it completely float or shim it up a bit?? thx b @@FoxPartyOf3
@FoxPartyOf310 ай бұрын
I’m no expert but I think I like having the camper sit flat on the truck bed.

Do you preload your air bags in the rear suspension before loading or do you make your adjustment after you are loaded?
@FoxPartyOf32 жыл бұрын
Although we have made some suspension mods, we don’t have airbags. We have Timbren Suspension Enhancement System and overload bump stops and they work great!

I was wondering how you did it in under 6 minutes with the tailgate on. I think you're missing a step that takes much more time. Show me when you have that figured out.
@FoxPartyOf38 ай бұрын
I’m sorry, I’m not understanding your comment. There is no tailgate.
@tcolondovich29968 ай бұрын
@@FoxPartyOf3 You mean you didn't understand my comment. Let me clarify: You started with the tailgate already removed from the truck. It didn't take "under 6 minutes" to load the camper if you included time spent removing the tailgate and disconnecting harnesses.
@FoxPartyOf38 ай бұрын
Oh, ok. I see what you’re saying now. We travel full time and actually live in the truck camper so the tailgate was removed when we purchased the Arctic Fox. A lot of people often ask if we ever take the camper off the truck and how hard it is to offload and load it, so this video was taken for the purpose of showing how easy it is to load it.
@tcolondovich29968 ай бұрын
@@FoxPartyOf3 I hear ya. I suppose that makes sense if you plant to leave the tailgate off, or not purchase one if the previous owner lost it.
@FoxPartyOf38 ай бұрын
Yep! We have saved the tailgate. It’s actually in our closet!😂
