How to locate pipes under the basement floor ?

In this video we explained how to locate pipes under a concrete slab or under the basement floor.
If you are planning on building a bathroom or a kitchen or whatever that requires a drain pipe you need to locate the exact location of the pipes that are buried under the concrete slab, this video will show you how to do that. I hope you find it helpful.

I've been doing sewer and drain video inspections for about 20 years. I wear gloves and I've always used a paper towel rather than my sleeve to clean the lens. Learn something new every day. 😁

Is this a manageable DYI? I’ve got 2 quotes for $7000 to remove the floor for a bathroom roughed in to move a shower drain 4” a toilet 2 feet and add a line for a bar 7’ with water lines to all. This seems manageable for a DYI with a 2” slab. I have no urgent timeline to get it done. Thoughts?

Yes it does tell you the exact number, the machine is called sewer camera, some people call it reel.

It was by Ridgid, you can even rent it from Home depot for a few hrs, but I suggest call someone like what I did in the video.

I called someone before and he couldn’t find the plumbing rough-in for the toilet and shower. He wanted to break all the concrete to find where the pipes runs.
