Hi Richard. I'd like to lock a field that is in a split database. Do i have to apply it to every form in the frontends where this field exists? Or do i apply it in the backend database? I don't see the Properties Sheet options in the backend...so i assume i apply in the front end?

Hi Richard. I have blocked users to edit fields by using allowedits = false. However there is a specific field which always must be available (yes/no-field). Is there a way to do this with allowed edits false or must I lock al the fields except that one? Thanx again.

Can I do this with a note entry? I think you call it a “contact” entry. I have the date field/note/follow up check box and user initials. Once a user enters a “comment” can I then lock that entry permanently and still be able to uncheck the follow up. With multiple users we don’t want comments being edited once entered. A new entry must be made each time.

Doesn’t seem to work for combo boxes. With the code you used, I find that it locks the combo box field even when there is no value entered in it

That would depend on what the default value for that field is because usually with a combo box with a numeric field, you're going to get a 0 in there instead of null, so you just have to check for zero or no.

Richard can you direct or recommend someone to me that could help me design and complete a database. I'm 63 and don't have the energy to learn/relearn all the in's and out of a database. Its not a large project maybe 10 input forms. Have most of what I want started but lacking the functionality in certain areas. I do have a budget for this.
