For those of you wondering why your FOLDER isn't OPENING when you type in the password IF you use " the spacebar " in your password on the .txt file while creating your .bat file, Make sure you do not use " the spacebar ", when typing your password in ON the cmd console. For example, If your password was " Job 9999 " on the .txt file, It should be " Job9999 " on the console.

Good tips. The password is still exposed as the batch file is visible. One thing we can do is, mark the .bat file as hidden from the file properties, and uncheck 'Hidden' in the Folder View menu to hide the batch file itself. So, both the batch file and the private folder will become invisible. Not a 100% safer approach though, but to some extent. Cheers!

Great Video But a little bit misleading as per the title given in the video : you can recover/see your Files by going to File Options > View > Uncheck Hide System Protected Files and you can see all your files without any password : This is misleading information it hides the folder not lock it.

new "private" folder within your designated folder you wanted to lock disappears when locked and reapers when unlocked with your password. Before you lock any folder you can test it first by locking and then unlocking to ensure it reappears before putting any of your data in the new private folder. Works very well.

If you "type 1==1 (any command)" it will execute the command if 1 equals 1. And that's mostly the case so you can type "1==1 goto Unlock" and it will bring you to the Unlock-section. Thats why you should use a number-pin and the choice command. And you can also download a compiler that turns it into a .exe file, so you a´can't edit it. Hope I could help you! ☺

Hey i found a solution to the preview thing so basically just follow the steps in the video and then after you hide your folder and REMEMBER THE PASSWORD and then just delete the bach file so there will be nothing left to preview but the hiddin folder (Private) exists and stays hidden so whenever you want to acess the hidden folder just create the same .bat file again and type the password that you had written earlier. If you forget the password then its gone lol

My Guy! You are so right. This method don't do much at all. If someone wants to play around in your drive and sees a .bat file they can easily figure out what your password is. you know the whole code boils down just to the ATTRIB command.. +h meaning hidden and +s flagging it as a system file.. ( Attrib /? on CMD for more commands) the res is just renaming the folder to some mumbo jumbo.. This does not *Lock*** a folder and you can find and attrib -h -s it easily..

But it seems that with the .bat file locked, if I r/click on it and change the extension back to .txt I can then open the file and see the password!!! Doesn't seem very secure if you know what a .bat file is there for.

the problem is after clicking on document the password doesnt show up it show different files

this doesnt really lock the files, just type in the file name of any of the files into the search bar and you will find them no problem
