should you enable "Include the entire file in the report" option when live logging?

Great question! This is a *new* feature, but in a nutshell it’s a great option if you ran /combatlog and then forgot to start live logging. The “entire file” will upload information from the most recent log and any new changes in it moving forward. I have it disabled by default, but it’s good to be aware of in case you forgot to start the Uploader and need to include some fights that happened before!

Can you auto upload logs? Ie if I use raider io for live log can I upload them auto or do I still have to manually upload ?

I admittedly do not leverage RaiderIO's live tracking feature, and prefer to Live Log through the uploader interface. It might be possible to point the WarcraftLogs Uploader to the raiderIO live logs, but you'd still need to "start" the uploader yourself regardless.

when i do /combatlog it will show up as Logs/WoWCombatLog.txt, how do i get rid of the ".txt" bc i think this is why my logs did not upload ? Is it a setting i missed in the client download? or did i choose a wrong folder ?

On the "Live Log" tab you should be able to select the `{drive}\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Logs` folder. If you're on the "Upload a Log" tab, it will require you to select a specific `.txt` file. It sounds like you're looking at the "Upload a Log" tab, but you're trying to perform a "live log" upload as you fight new bosses. Try swapping to Live Log tab and let me know if that helps!

Do you stop combat logging after each raid boss or just start it at the start of raid and end it when the raid is done

I start logging at the beginning of raid, while the group is forming, or while I’m waiting on queue, then stop once I’m completely done.

I have isssues where I follow the steps, stop combat log, and it doesn’t automatically upload and says no data on the log even though I was fighting random mobs for minutes for trial. It won’t let me delete the log in game and I have to log out. It won’t even let me begin recording a new log unless I delete the old one

so CombatLog is designed to mostly encapsulate instanced content, there's a setting somewhere to allow for the capture of random mobs (but they're ignored by default because it would clutter logs like crazy). You also can NOT delete logs while your game is running. This is by design. WoW has to be stopped before you can delete existing logs.

@@hrothmar okay, so I ran stockades to try it out. I stopped the combat log many times to upload that little segment of fighting. It all uploaded but seemed to be the same entire file and not separate little fights? Basically if I run BFD, I should just start the live log and combat log in game only once and stop it once the raid is over with?

@@matthew7972no need to stop combat logs to get little segments of fighting, just run the whole thing and then complete the instance. Dungeons are counted as one large instance, raids are per-boss. It sounds like you're mostly tripping up the tool from being able to do its job and it's causing problems with its outcome. For dungeons, you can start CombatLog/LiveLog (run multiple dungeons) then disable it once you're completed, same with raid. Also, I'm unsure how well it works with Classic/SoD since I solely deal with retail information.

I dont believe so no, you can enable logs then run multiple dungeons without issue.

Should I delete the file every day ?

you don't have to, but it's a good habit when you remember to. For context, I've raided most days this week and not deleted logs manually and i only have a handful locally still.
