The other day, I decided I wanted to learn how to hand embroider. I ordered a "Beginner" embroider kit from Amazon. It came today. I think the seller assumed this beginner knew the different stitches. It did not say how to do the stitches. It just said which stitches the pattern used. So this is a great help. They seem pretty simple. Looking forward to starting this project.

These videos are very amazing especially helping with my Lifeskills homework. These videos helped me sew stiches, including helping my friends sewing those stiches, learning different stiches, remebering all. Your videos are very useful especially for those who are learning how to do stiches or sewing stiches for homework.

I've just started learning to embroider and I love these little videos! Very easy to follow and it's clear to see what you're doing. I've successfully learned 3 new stitches already - thanks :)

You single-handedly taught me to hand embroider with a cumulative like 15 minutes of KZbin videos. You’re amazing ❤

These videos are very helpful because I have a kit but it is not a new one and don't exactly understand the directions. I prefer watching the video hands on better, so thank you for that

Brilliant. Great videos. Straight to the instructions and very clear. (Too many people spend the first 2 to 3 minutes rambling on about themselves.) Thank you so much Wanting to finish some embroidery that my mother left. My first challenge like a person below is decoding the instructions on the card with the tablecloth.

Thank you so very much! I have a really great book that shows, pretty much, step by step. However seeing it in action, so clearly!!, really makes the difference in understanding and creating these stitches.

May i ask what the outlining does? Does it reinforce the fabric, or is it a personal preference?
@CutesyCrafts4 жыл бұрын
Just a preference. I don't do it anymore, but it's helpful for beginners. It helps keep a smooth outline of whatever shape you are filling because you have to go over that line.

What does the splitting the thread when doing L&S do? This is the first tutorial I've seen where the thread's split. I've always seen it worked from the bottom up, where in effect a backstitch is made into the same hole, not top down where it's split

I bought a kit because I'm just new to embroidery and I'm not a picture learner so most of the instructions were no good for me. I've watched other videos on certain stiches and your videos I've learnt the fastest and quickest from as they are short easy to see slow and clear to understand

Thanks so much for your videos! I'm brand new to embroidery and you helped me quite a bit. I do have a question about outline for the long and short... Does that add to the look of the stitch, or is it more of a guide?
@CutesyCrafts2 жыл бұрын
It's just a guide. You don't have to do it.

What is your recommendation for the amount of strands to use when doing this stitch?
@CutesyCrafts2 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much texture you want. If you are trying to blend more than one color together, I'd use 2 at most. If you look at "thread painting" tutorials, I think some people even use 1 strand, although I'm not sure how you'd split that very easily. I don't enjoy using only one thread.

Which needle is best to use for this stitch if I'm using three strands?

Size 8 embroidery needle for 3 strands. Here's a post about supplies: cutesycrafts.com/2018/08/5-essential-hand-embroidery-supplies.html

Thank you so much! One question though, am I able to use any amount of thread?
@CutesyCrafts3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can always use any amount of thread. Smaller amounts will make the colors blend a little better and make it smoother.
