It is so refreshing to see someone more traditional speak about the ethical issues with fast fashion. It just goes to show that keeping our planet clean is truly a matter of ethics, not politics!!

My ways to appear more polished: -Wearing some makeup everyday even when I don’t feel like it no matter where I go or what I’m doing. Practice a good basic look. -My hair isn’t naturally straight so I prep the night before since textured hair can be unpredictable. I normally keep my styles more loose and free but I have a go-to chignon style for a classic look. -Working on posture and having a warm expression helps. -I took your advice in that one video about graceful hand motions and that takes things up a notch lol Your advice is dead on and mothers should be teaching their daughters these things❤️

I'm not the most feminine, but I definitely have adopted the more solids and small prints into my wardrobe and of course cutting out fast fashion! I think that just comes with growing up and becoming an adult lady! Also, you look so lovely in that sweater!

Incredible video Cynthia! I definitely agree that one's wardrobe can make a huge difference in how they carry themselves. I've noticed that when I wear pants, I feel more in my masculine energy and have been making an effort to wear skirts and dresses. My mother has been an incredible supporter and since our culture (West African) leans more towards modest, bright and colorful clothing, she has been buying me some and advised me to get a tailor. So grateful for this information! Also thank you for replying to my previous comment 💕💕

Another fabulous video Cynthia, you have a gift! I’m heading into the store now to get some thread to mend a few holes! My way of instantly looking and feeling more refined in the winter is to wear a well made, structured coat in my favorite color. I always notice if a woman is wearing a beautiful coat🌹

I don't leave home without at least mascara, it wakes up my face instantly! If I feel fancy, I will add eyeliner with it. Not much of a makeup person lately. Like lipstick on others but I just don't keep up with the reapplying of it throughout the day so I've given it up. Posture is something I will take into my daily focus to better my overall polished look. Great tips, will be checking out your posture video as suggested!

Magda Amado posture can definitely make a difference 😊! I think What’s most importance is confidence - even if that is mascara and not lipstick, I support it 💕😊

@@CynthiaL I have a funny add-on to this...yesterday I attended my pure barre class wearing only lipstick vs the usual mascara & eyeliner which is so much easier to wash after sweating from exercising! So...thanks to you...I will be incorporating short-term lipstick wearing after all (for exercising classes only)!

I'm from Bangladesh, and possibly moving to Canada in a few years. I always wear our ethnic clothes, like salwar kameez, our skirts, and sari on special occasions. I have only a few sets of Western outfits for the sake of places with dress codes such as business professional. I love our traditional clothing and can't imagine living without them. Western clothes aren't my thing at all. I am terrified by the thought of leaving our traditional clothing when I move to Canada. Even if I could manage to wear them, they won't be suitable for the cold temperatures. I eventually have to switch to wearing full Western. What terrifies me the most is winter clothing. Here winter isn't that cold and it is easy to wear some pretty winter clothing. I am not used to heavy coats, and I have no idea how to pull them off and still have the feminine vibe. Your videos teach me a lot and make me feel like I will be able to manage it when I move there. But man, I'd love to attend parties and special events wearing sari instead of gowns and I can already imagine how much it would stand out and still look feminine and beautiful. I firmly believe women of all ethnicities look the best in their own ethnic clothing. ❤️
@ms.b60155 жыл бұрын
I 100% think you should wear the clothing you're most comfortable in when attending any events! Check out Gurkiran Kaur, she's our NDP representative (Jagmeet Singh)'s wife. She rocks western and her cultural Indian clothing to any event! She has great outfits to look up to (she's also a fashion designer!) gurkirankaur_ is her insta if you want some inspiration on classy and feminine but also cultural.

I see many, many beautiful ladies in their traditional Indian saris here in Canada. My 19 year old daughters went to high school with several. These cultural differences are very supported. Don't worry, sweetheart. Your style will be respected.❤❤
@shaaaairuuu5 жыл бұрын
@@ms.b6015 Of course it's possible to rock something like that if you're on that level. It's harder for normal noobs. Also many parts of India have colder temperatures so they have traditional garments that can suit Canadian weather as well. In Bangladesh literally everything is made of cotton and they are all super comfy and breathable for the humid summer but not suitable in the winter at all. It's harder to specifically find the type of garments that we wear, and we aren't exactly the same as Indians despite many similarities.

I like your way of thinking. I am a mom of 2...between school runs, cleaning, cooking, laundry, after school activities 3 nights a week ect ect. I wear leggings and hoodies. Hair in ponytail lol. I have no time to dress up or look put together. Any tips for a busy mom? 😊
@CynthiaL5 жыл бұрын
I can imagine that you are so busy! I hope that I can share my authentic experience once I have kids 😊💕. I think a nice ponytail can look put-together (I often clip my hair back when in the home - nobody wants to be cleaning with hair dangling over various surface lol). I also think matching plays a big part - even if you're just wearing leggings and hoodies. Also, in the winter, I love wearing boots over leggings to give it a more "dressed up" vibe (but still practical).

I have a mom friend who always dresses well. She said something that’s always stuck with me. “It takes just as much effort to pull on a pair of sweatpants as to pull on a nice pair of pants.” She’s right! Dresses are my personal cheat code. I can grab it off the hanger and dress in the dark and look put together in perfect comfort. Add a simple pair of earrings you’re golden!

You lipstick is very vibrant. Drawned by the word "fast fashion": if you mean the fads that come and go, I agree it is something ladies should beware of. It seems silly for women to replace things every season. The perfect classic accessories also make sense: reminds me of the classic wardrobe a couple of stylists are teaching me. I wonder if Marie Claire is a good go to for the classics.

Fast fashion, the trends that come and go and usually the cheap material that they use to create those clothes. A classic wardrobe is best 😄

Suggestions for someone who doesn't have fuller lips. Lipstick looks horrible on me unfortunately. Regardless if I use lip liner...ugh 🙄🙄🙄
@CynthiaL5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for commenting Stephanie 😊💕. Have you tried applying lip liner as the lipstick(not really around, but actual on the lip)? I've also heard that exfoliating your lips before trying to apply lipstick helps to boost circulation and then makes it better to get precision when applying lipstick. Maybe someone reading this comment will have more tips
@TULIP.16895 жыл бұрын
Using a technique called over lining can be used to create the illusion of slightly fuller lips. Use a liner a few shades darker than the actual lipstick taking the liner ever so slightly beyond your actual lip. Play around with this to find the most flattering way to do it and use a very light hand. My lips are already full and I do this for different looks. Add a lip plumping gloss to increase the effect. Finding undertones that match your skin is important with lipstick as well and is probably even more important than fullness.
@amandazplace56635 жыл бұрын
All these suggestions are great. You might want to play around with frosted vs matte, to see which you prefer. It might also be a case of just not being used to seeing yourself like this, so having a negative reaction that actually is inaccurate. Try wearing lipstick around the house only, for a good 2 weeks, where you feel less judged. Give yourself the privacy to adjust to the change.❤
