A couple of notes I find important to add: - Helmet rolls you should look for +max life as your go to deciding stat. It's a huge and important roll to have on your helmet, and It is difficult to reroll on the Occultist for some reason. If you get one with max life then you can reroll CDR or total armor on it easier and have a solid piece. - If you salvage those items you upgraded to 5/5, you get your materials refunded. Forgotten souls included. - A good rule of thumb when coming back to town to sell (assuming youre into WT4) is to instantly sell all sacred items in your inventory without looking at them EXCEPT jewelry (rings+necklace). If a sacred item rolls over 700 itempower, it can be upgraded to 725 and reach the last stat-range breakpoint and be potential best in slot. Other items besides jewelry can as well, but it's really not worth the time to check them. Jewelry can be very difficult to get good rolls so it's worth doing. So sacred jewerly you only check itempower is over 700. If below, instant sell, no need to check stats. - Some itemtypes are instant sell no matter what. On Rogue for example, Bows are dogshiet due to the implicit stat being damage to distant enemies which is a terrible stat, while crossbows roll vulnerable damage which is the best stat. So you always want a crossbow. This means every bow can be instant sold without any thought (edit: since patch 1.1 this is no longer the case) EDIT: Since this comment was made there has been a patch that severely nerfed the vulnerable damage roll on crossbows reducing it by -65%, making bows somewhat more competitive in that slot. You probably still ideally want a crossbow, however this also means bow are no longer auto-salvage.

Very helpful comment, but I would disagree on the bow part. Not all rogues are Twisting blades builds, just 95% of them 🙂 For some of the ranged setups (especially Rapid fire ones) much higher attack speed of bows was beating vuln from crossbows even before the vuln nerf.

Really good tips. Let me add some... If you are in t4 farming keep 1 or 2 tabs on your stash empty, as soon as your inv gets full you dump everything into your stash and go back to farm. This is especially useful if you are aiming for 6 chests in helltides. When your stash is full then you go to the TREE OF WHISPERS waypoint, there you have your stash really close to a vendor and a scraper. There you can check all your items and keep farming really fast.

Pro Tip: You don't need a vendor to use Raxx's tricks. Just open up your inventory from anywhere, hit the sort button like he recommends, and as you go through just hit Space to mark things as Junk. Then at the vendor, once you sell one Junk item, all of your marked Junk items are sold at the same time.

3:59 Resource Cost Reduction? Hell yes, however Resource Generation? Hell no, it's too weak by comparison. Always go for Cost Reducion over Generation. And why? Because if your skill costs, for example, 30 mana, then getting a 10% cost reducion reduces its cost by 3 mana, but your default resource generation is 10/s, so getting a 10% resource generation boost, that just turns it into 11/s. Resource cost reduction removes more from the cost than resource cost generation adds to its own base value. Another thing - there are resource boosters in paragon board (for example +4 mana) but there are none (almost positive) resource cost generation nodes, which is ultimately why Cost Reducion triumphs.

I think there is an even better method to do this in the end game. There is an option that will show you a list of affixes you will lose when you hover over an item in your inventory. This list doesnt mention changes to the value of an affix, only if there is one on your equiped item that is not on the item in your inventory. In the end game your gear will most likely be 3/4 or 4/4 on your desired affixes, so for an item to be good the list of affixes you will lose should be empty or only have 1-2 things in there max. If that list is longer you already know it is going to be trash for your current build.

I look at the border of the item and vendor all the sacreds first (except jewelry which I check item power for 700-724 and legendary items for their affixes). This way I don't accidentally waste time analyzing rolls of sacred armor/weapons. Barbarians however should note that the DPS of weapons they equip but don't use for their core skills are still important for their rolls. These are known as "stat sticks" and you should keep an eye out for weapons with perfect crit and vuln, even if they are only item power 725. After crit and vuln you should look for main stat, all stat (if needed to achieve glyph bonuses), close damage, and core damage.

Raxx,you can upgrade items to the next tier. You can use a ancestral aspect to make a regular rare into ancestral. Save ancestral aspects and make sacred into ancestral
@Arkalius80 Жыл бұрын
This doesn't change the item power though. The important thing isn't really whether or not its ancestral, but whether it's item power is at least 700. The highest item power breakpoint is 725 so at 700 you can upgrade into the highest tier. Some sacred items can roll with 700+ item power but it's pretty uncommon.
@okkiiiii Жыл бұрын
@@Arkalius80 This is true. But when you hit a new breakpoint, all stats will be rerolled. So if you upgrade a sacred item to an ancestral one, and then hit the breakpoint, it will reroll as if it were ancestral.

@CTHorde Well either you're lucky or I'm unlucky because I don't.
@TheTWH9 Жыл бұрын
like the other guy said, this means nothing because even though it turns "ancestral" the stats will still be sacred tier. Also worth noting that putting high level aspects on low gear changes the level requirement so it makes an item potentially useful for an alt for leveling unusable until they reach the aspect lvl requirement. Another thing, many aspects scale with item power now as of recent update, such as thorns while berserking, and speaking of item power scaling LIFE scales with item power. So if it's a piece you're looking for life on (for my build helm/rings at least) it's best not to bother with sacred 700s and instead just check naturally ancestral items.
@DiogoVKersting Жыл бұрын
Technique: store ancestral items from many runs in a tab in storage. Later on, you'll be sorting many items of the same type at once (which is easier than sorting a couple of items from each type). You should accumulate at least 7 items of the same type before you sift through them. The obvious downside is giving up on one storage tab.

I've never considered sorting... that is really good. Othervise I think I've already perfected the fast inventory management. Legendarys: Do what you suggest, look at the range. I don't have too much perfect already (aside from the +armor one, where I got 6 perfect rolls already...) so I settle for the upper 80%. Helms: I've already got one with max +mana and max cooldown, but quite low item power with ~730. So I look for cooldown or mana, if it has neither, trash. If it has look closer at the ranges. Chest: Bevor I fouund the tele chest I did what you did. After that auto sell everything not a unique. Weapons/Focus: I got a 815 weapon with 3 good stats, a 807 focus with very good cooldown and quite usefull stats, not perfect though. If I don't get a 800+ in that regard, auto sell. Gloves: I've got a Shard, Crit, Lucky, Speed one for one of my fist ones, but only +3 out of 4 shards, only ~725 Item Power. Never found an upgrade so far and I'm 90 now. Pants: Again, good stats (-damage from burn, +armor, +life, int) but low item power witz ~735. Hard to find an upgrade there. Boots: Recently found an almost perfect upgrade here, missing +1 frost nova, rest (almost) perfect stats. I look for +frost nova and +tele and -ressource cost. If it has neither or only 1, trash. Rings: I've recently found a crit, crit, -ressource one where I was able to roll voulnerable. For the other I sacrificed a crit damage roll for my quality of life stat in life regen. Since + crit chance seems to auto reroll on those if not present I stopped looking further at rings if they don't roll crit chance, unless I see voulnerable already on it at first glance. Amulet: I've got a good roll in -ressource and cooldown here, also with a usefull (not perfect) Skill to boost damage (+3 to the east one of the 4 cold passives), also movement speed is here instead of boots where I didn't find any with movement so far. If I don't see either of ressource or cooldown, trash. If there is I search further for skills. +defensive would be a dream. I actually found one with +passive and both, however both of those rolls were so low, I had to trash it. No I don't do trading, I play solo self found, no point in keeping it.

I wish Blizzard would do something about this because searching for stats on an item that suit me is a real pain in the ass. Even when searching for just one important stat, like cooldown reduction, I still have to read through all the stats, so it doesn't really make a difference whether I read all the stats or all the stats plus their ranges. We should simply know whether an item is good or not just by looking at it on the ground, and that's how legendaries should be, for example. Yellow items can be used for further enhancement and adding legendary powers, but when a legendary drops, it should already have relatively good stats. Currently, I feel like legendaries are worth less than yellows, excluding their legendary powers.

I would keep more Powers that are close to Max Rolls not only Max Rolls, imagine gettings a 820 perfect stats Weapon and you cant use it because your only perfect roll is on your 750 weapon and you vendored all 19/20% ones, always have at least one ok-ish backup per power imo 3. There is an important item power breakpoint at 725, if you get over it by upgrading the item + add a ancestral power, you get your stats rerolled and a +1 to a skill can end up as a +4 4. Do not not pick up the sacred items :D the moment will come where you got a some really good items but you need tons of gold to reroll that one bad stat on it, just pick em up and vendor them without checking stats 5. If you start having somewhat decent gear, use the RED stats too see if there is even a chance for an item to be an upgrade, on gloves if there is only attack speed red, maybe it can be a perfect item with some rerolling, if attack speed, + skill, crit chance and Lucky Hit are all 4 red, you can be pretty sure there is not much hope for the item ;-)

I'm a bit of a loot hoarder. If I see shiny, I pick it up. What I usually do is whenever I have any kind of downtime during a run, I open my inventory and mark anything less than yellow, and anything less than ancestral as junk. Then when I get to town I can just instantly vendor half my inventory and then sort and quickly scan through the rest. Probably not the most efficient to pick up everything, but that strategy could be used even when you only accidentally pick up junk. I also use that downtime to throw out any gems since I already got way too many.

Great video, very helpful. One of my biggest gripes with the game rn is the constant standing around trying to work out if an item is any good. Imagine playing a arpg loot game and sorting ur loot being a big pain in the ass 😂

Note: If you get gear 700-724 IP (Sacred) you can upgrade it on the Jeweller/Blacksmith to 725+. Then the values get rerolled to the next tier (Ancestral). This is usually good on jewellery/stat stick items where damage/armor is not that important.
@milkotopaloff5504 Жыл бұрын
@CTHorde By ancestral roll I mean the highest bracket of mod tier, which is 725+. So If you upgrade something that is 700-724 the mod tier gets upgraded to the highest one, which usually refers to ancestral items because most of them are 725+.
@Silasftww Жыл бұрын
@@milkotopaloff5504 I dont think people refer ancestrals to that, :O but yeah ancestrals has a lowest point at like 685 or something and sacred items can go as high as 710 or something and can then potentially get upgraded to 725+ :P

Another good rule of the thumb is look for bad stats instead of one.. if there is more than one of something you dont want... It goes...That or something you definitely want on a peice like +rank to coreskill on gloves or movement speed on boots Also in torment, anything non ancestral goes unless its a legendary aspect i can extract

They really need some basic filters for the inventory before they expand it. Yes I want more stash tabs given the huge discrepancy in tabs between D4 and D2 but without proper filters ill just get even more lost in my yard sale sized stash pile.

7:37 ... if they are sacred and +700 ip they are indirectly an ancestral and shouldn't be instantly trashed. So always check if they are that high, if they are they will get the Ancestral affix values when upgraded past 725 and be as good .

there is one BIG flaw in this method. sacred items aren't automatically trash, especially amulets and rings. an item power 700 or above amulet or ring can have the exact same stat ranges as an 820 ancestral, because upgrading it to 725 gets it to the last affix breakpoint.

What I do, anything that says sacred or ancestral under 780 power goes to trash ( I don't have anything under power 800). Usually, that's 75% of what you collect. Anything that has 2 bad stats, gone. So, within 30 sec, am usually down to 5 or so items and I can quickly compare with my equip stuff. That works for me, find what works for you.

We need a addon, that can be configured to assign points for your statspriority, so you can just by looking at that number, you should know if the item is good for your build. It should tell you how many stats are good.

Thank you for this vid, I was probably spending 50% of my playtime looking at printouts, trying to figure out if an item was an upgrade or not, one problem was that build guides tell me dps>AS, but I don't know in what ratio... like 1% better 10% better, 1000% better, aka should I toss a weapon with 1% AS for 10dps... for the first case obviously not, for the 2nd case its a wash for the 3rd case I should toss 900%AS for 1 more dps, thanks for this guide

By the way Rax, an item _can_ change where it is in a stat range IF it would go over the 725 or 825 breakpoint when upgrading. Wudi has a video on this.

The only stats that change above 725 item power are life and thorns. Every other stat is in the max tier range at 725. You should be checking sacred rings and necks because of the stat ranges (yes a sacred can roll 725+)

Super helpful but at 13:51 did you mean to pronounce wand the same as hand 🤔
@AG-ld6rv Жыл бұрын
I wish you could use item level to decide not to examine stat sticks as a barbarian. It's pretty annoying checking every sword and bludgeoning to see if it has better stats. When picking a two-handed sword, that's easier as the item level is more important.
@Arkayjiya Жыл бұрын
Upgrading beyond a threshold does reroll the value completely, that's why early in WT4 I still took the sacred items because I got some very good 700+ items once I upgraded them past 725. Probably not worth it later on when you drop tons of ancestral though. And yeah upgrading (except past a threshold) only increase affixes by 10% per upgrade so a low roll will remain low because it's just low +50% vs high +50%.
@fjoerge_ Жыл бұрын
When you have decent Gear: Activate Advanced Tooltips and Compare Items. Then just take a quick glance if you have 2-3 red color in the comparison. If you have 3 times red it means, that you hit the same rolls you already have on your item --> Take a 2nd look If it's 3-4 times green, you have other rolls you most likely don't need --> Sell it
