This video idea is such a breath of fresh air and much needed. There’s so many videos about “tacky fashion” or “tacky trends” and the people making these videos attack trends unapologetically in a very crass manner. Meanwhile, you gloss over the trends but you never demean them or insult them for those who actually like some trends. This video was just talking about classic styles and pieces, it didn’t try to trash talk other styles. You were talking about classic style and fashion, but your attitude and personality is also very classic and definitely the opposite of those “tacky” youtubers who often demean and insult people who follow trends. Really love this video!

How true, let’s stop putting each other down! Each person deliberately CHOSE that particular style they are wearing! I watched a KZbinr for a while who was like that, when she made a Vomit Face, I disliked, commented and unsubscribed. I remember on my wedding day, a woman walked into the bride’s “holding room” of the church right before my wedding, stared at me and said “oh, dear, (sighing heavily), maybe a darker shade of lipstick”! This was more than 30 years ago, and I still remember how much that stung. Brides spend months planning all that, she tried to trash my confidence 3” before the ceremony. I was angry and upset, and it showed. I never found out who she was, someone vaguely associated with the church who was NOT invited. Criticism hurts a lot, and I hate female competitiveness. Love one another!

I’m turning 30thy this Christmas Eve and I have two little kids two and a half year old boy and a baby girl that just turned one and I’m done 😂 with both breastfeeding and having kids. Back to my weight but actually hoping to get in best shape of my life and creat again my capsule wardrobe. I just bought a very classic pair of two-tone (black and tan) Ralph Lauren (knee-high) riding boots. I’ve had my eye on them for a long time, and they just went on sale and into my budget range. I’m so excited to get them, I hope that noise I just heard out front is them being delivered and not the garbage man! The English Country Walk look has always very a favorite of mine.

Nice video, thanks. I agree the basic building blocks of a wardrobe should be in solid neutrals. I love prints and colors, so I add them with silk scarves (trendy now, but I have done this all my life), or an inexpensive top. I also think investing in high-quality basics like silks, blazers and leather moto-jackets can be a good idea, if one has high confidence about staying the same size. I just added a daily walk to improve my health, then lost 35 lbs. unexpectedly, and it’s stayed off. I can’t wear any of my extensive, high-quality wardrobe from the previous few years, and am overwhelmed by the effort of going through it, altering, donating, selling, etc. Also, quality basics like blazers shouldn’t be trendy or unflattering - I didn’t buy one for several years because they were oversized, too long, and not fitted. I just recently found a very classic blazer buy Ralph Lauren, so I got it in several colors (yay, Ralph, always classic!)

What about curvier silhouettes. Can you speak to that or know someone that does. it seems to me that many KZbin videos provide great information but there isn’t much for women with larger chest with hips to match and smaller waist. I buy my white tsgirts in a 3 pack from Marks and Sparks. They are supremely soft and last for years. I wish riding boots came in real wide calf because I love them and have wanted them since I was a child. I laugh as my leather biker jacket was bought in Camden Lock in 1993 for £60. Best money I ever spent. I have 2 Old Navy versions as well which get a lot of use.
