After a couple false starts (ok, maybe 5), I finally got the first pocket done. It took a couple hours or so. Now I'm off to start the second. I don't think the entire shawl will take that long. Once you get into the rhythm, and repetitive muscle memory kicks in , it's rather quick.

Hi Beatriz! Congratulations future grandma! Yes, of course you could make a cocoon with that stitch. Working in the round, just make sure you always "purl" on the same pegs, and you always work the figure 8 on the same pegs...

Thank you for the video, very pretty pocket shawl. How long do we make the last part of the video for, after the pockets? Can we use category 6, super bulky weight yarn? Is this an 11" loom you are using or a 9" loom? Any other information on the specifics of the loom or the final size of the pockets and/or the shawl will be helpful, to check and see if it's correct or close to the pocket shawl you have made. Thank you.
@Tuteate4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ruby! Thank you! I used a 41-peg round loom XL gauge 13/16". You can use category 6 yarn, for sure (I used #5 because I thought it would come out more flexible). This video is just the PART 1, and I am editing the PART 2. I will write down the PDF pattern too, so I think you will have all your answers then :)

Could this stitch be used to make a hat??
@hie54094 жыл бұрын
hello i was following your hat tutorial!! and idk why but mine has a lot of holes..is it because of the yarn im using? im not uaing bulky yarn but..
@Tuteate4 жыл бұрын
Hi Amina! It might be the yarn thickness, yes... Could you try using 2 or 3 strands of your yarn at the same time? (as if you had a double-thick or triple-thick yarn). When the knitting is close to the pegs, it usually looks a bit "holey", but it shouldn't look like this at the part of the knitting that gets away from them.
@FiberLovingQueenAJ4 жыл бұрын
Is the 500+ yds amount of yarn stated at the beginnings the video for the whole shawl? Or just the pockets?

@Scorpio_Love_114 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to have the exact loom as in video only one with minimum of 39 pegs if you have the flexee loom all you need is 20 of the 2 peg snap together pieces to make this you can use more and even make it larger

Hi can I make the pockets smaller
@Tuteate4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ena! Yes, you can. As you will see in this tutorial's PART 2, I used the knitting made for the pockets in horizontal. I mean, The number of pegs I used to make that knitting determines the "height" of the pocket, while the number of rows determines the "width" of the pocket. You can change both sizes if you want. Just remember to use a number of pegs multiple of 3.
