Place a trap door directly between 2 skulk sensors. Placing the trap door will set off both sensors, which will then set off the trap door continuously. The warden will be drawn to it and he'll stay still, staring at the trap door. You can even stand in a block right next to him and he won't notice you as long as you don't touch him. So far I've raided 3 ancient cities doing this and it was very easy. Remember, depending on the size of the city, more than 1 warden can spawn, so make sure to do this in every section with a chest in it.

@@dreeph I just take a few trap doors and a silk touch hoe whenever I go into an ancient city/deep dark. If there aren't 2 sensors 1 block away from one another, I'll silk touch a sensor then place it 2 blocks away from another one with the trap door in between them. Or, just take a couple of sensors and trap doors with you. It's quick and easy to do either before or after the warden spawns.

A very quick explanation: take your time, use wool when necessary (especially covering shriekers before you break them) and just crouch when not on wool

i do the first method with elytra, just fly around, find a chest, then break the chest with my axe and pick everything up, fly away, and repeat. Works pretty well, i got a stack of notch apples in 3 hours by doing that

this is the fastest and safest method without blocking off his spawn, or the shriekers. i did this and raided the entire city in less than 10 minutes, even though wardens spawn, you can trick them into following trapdoors set to some redstone clock, or in the dead middle of 2 sensors within distance. very safe in my experience

I have used this same method on bedrock edition and haven’t died yet. If gotten good enough to break the chests grab the loot and fly to a different part of the city. from there I just repeat until I have looted all of the chests. Many wardens end up spawning but I fly away and by the time I return to that area they will despawn.

If you want to kill/escape the warden, just mine a 20 block tunnel and shoot arrows at it, it can't sonic boom you Also it takes a few seconds for the warden to emerge and takes a few more seconds for it to roar, the first method is pretty safe imo You can turn on chunk borders if you don't want to fly in the darkness

The first time I played on this version with a friend we found a shrieker and accidentally spawned the warden, we knew that it was in the game and that it can hit like a truck, but we thought it can only spawn in ancient cityes and we weren't anywhere near an ancient city... Queue 2 guys in their 20s being scared shitless when the shrieker started doing its thing and when the warden spawned and oneshoted us since we didn't have any armor on... Then queue me bridging above him trying to use my favorite weapon in the game: the lava bucket to cheese him and realizing the warden is immune to lava

Covering up all the shriekers with wool may not work because u can’t get the bottom so make sure to watch for skulk sensors lower than the shriekers

I personally climb on top of the giant portal, place down a couple of shulkers or chests and then, after I locate where the chests are, I jump with an elytra down to the chest, break it with an axe to get the loot, and then fly away to the top of the portal. After that, I wait 1 minute for the warden to despawn and then I fly down again until I gather all chests.

The loot is insane. I found a enchanted diamond hoe that had unbreaking III, Fortune III, Efficiency IV and mending on it. Upgraded it to netherite immediately after finding it.

If you surround a sculk shrieker in wool, the warden wont spawn. You can crouch through the city without wool (place only when jumping, a carpet maybe) and conserve your wool for surrounding the shrieker.

I also noticed some said placing a trapdoor in between two detectors will cheese the warden since the warden will be attracted to the noise instead of you.

Speedrunning it is the only way for me because I get suepr bored otherwise, and I personally find it the safest because the warden spawns either way as I am trying to break shriekers. Just make sure to break the shriekers first, runaway sothat wardens despawn and loot the city in piece

I'm raiding my first Ancient City on hardcore (I've explored one once or twice in the regular game mode where you can simply switch to "peaceful" and raid it with ease if things get crazy) and I planned to just run and gun my way through it with no preparation as I just happened to stumble across a massive one. I was too impatient to mine a proper entrance since I accidentally mined down into it on an angle and couldn't see far enough to locate any walls, so I had to drop gravel from the ceiling to make a stairway down and the warden showed up like 5 or 6 times just in my efforts to make a safe path into the city lol. I ended up deciding not to risk it and trekking all the way back to my base to sheer sheep and make stair blocks for a quick exit so I don't have to worry about accidentally rocket blasting my elytra into the ceiling due to the darkness status effect. I find Minecraft is way more fun and exciting on hardcore mode where you are forced to plan your every move so you don't lose your world.

You should have put your things inside a shulker and then place the shulker inside the ender chest, and you just keep in the inventory a pickaxe with silk touch, a hoe and wool. Then when the warden spawns, you just place those things in the ender chest and just lose the ender chest. P.D: Don't do it while being in Hardcore mode

want to know how to decrease the darkness effect? on java go to accessibility settings, and there is a thing called darkness pulsing or somethin like that. turn that to 0% and you should be able to see better when you are given the darkness effect. your welcome :)

I found a ancient city, and at first I snuck around and assassinated all the screeching skulkers so I could loot freely... then I realized you get xp with the skulk, so I used it to farm levels and leveled up to 50+ 3 times! 1 ancient city I was able to enchant my diamond armor AND tools. Now I just need mending

If your playin with friends, you can dedicate one guy to be a “safe” and the rest of you run around the city with absolutely nothing breaking shriekers, as crazy as it sounds it seriously works, set up a little base just outside the city and just get the runners to bring back the loot to the safe

Sooo me and my friends 3 of us total found a ancient city... this was on a realm... we all died near instantly but then the realms disconnected us and actually rolled it back 30 min so we got to keep our stuff... realms being glitchy actually saved us!

It's easy. Make sure to sneak when ur sprinting and press and hold the jump key after that. This glitch is insane while raiding the ancient city. That way u can sneak faster without using Swift sneak. Also if a warden spawns, trap him using 8 trapdoors with 2x2 dimensions
