I enjoy creating CLI programs of varying complexity, but mostly keep them simple and following the unix philosophy of creating small programs that do one thing well. Following this unix philosophy makes the process of making programs so much more enjoyable because you keep things simple and design your programs in a way that they can be used by other programs. For example, if I'm curious about an encryption algorithm, I'll write a program to encrypt some input text and output the ciphertext to stdout or a file. I might even make a separate program for decrypting instead of including it in the original program. It's just so clean and modular, it reminds me of when computing was simpler.

Started with AP CSP last year for my junior year and did pretty well with a 5 on the AP exam apparently getting a full 100, but coding was still a foreign concept it felt like even after that. I didn’t do much out of school while taking the class so my knowledge didn’t leave that curriculum. Now I’m taking AP CSA as a senior in HS, two weeks before school started I decided to look up the curriculum and learn all of it. While all the concepts weren’t 100% and the reasoning behind some I still didn’t fully understand, now I’m 2 months into the class and know everything and am building my knowledge outside of class with my own projects. Love programming and hope this is my future job lol.

@thecoolnewsguy8 ай бұрын
Easy. You enjoyed building it. It doesn't have to be likeable by people. Even if it's useless, you'll learn a lot and you'll make your brain work. So yeah, learn to love anything you build.

Hey, guys, I have an idea, but when I want to execute it, I always think my idea is not good enough, and it makes me discouraged to do it. What do you guys think? Should I just go for it or what?
@billbill37098 ай бұрын
It’s as simple as just getting started. Be Courageous, don’t let fear control your actions. in your case it’s the fear of not being good enough. If you can get started, even just a little everyday, your passion and want to make that idea come to fruition will be larger than your fear. Good luck
@david212898 ай бұрын
Just do it my man, don't forget to divide it into a smaller subtask and finish each subtask. You will never be able to see how worthy your idea is until it finished. I believe in you ❤

Thank you both for the encouraging words and valuable advice. Your support means a lot to me as I work on my idea. I truly appreciate it!

@@helloworld2278 The beauty about code is that you can build new things just from a blank page. Starting a new project is as easy as ctrl+n. Do a new project. If you come up with a new idea for the old project you can create a new branch or just put the old version in an archive folder. Refactor it. Recreate it. Play with it. Integrate it in your new project. Build modules. Build things.

sadly this is pretty bad advice for me as I reside in India. want to be a game developer and there are literally 0 Indian gaming companies (which are non gambling or absolute jokes) and I don't have enough money and time to make and put out indie games. what gets you hired means you're working for someone else and you only get a paycheck that doesn't increase and those resume years mean nothing......... but if you focus on credit at a bank and accumulating assets and using those assets to accumulate more assets, then your time spent working isnt wasted. I just left my soulless engineering job and couldn't be happier to no longer be a slave and allow other people to affect my decisions
