@DickKnowsBest Christians don't pretend to know it all, but we do believe the One who created us and put us on Earth did it for a reason, and has all the answers to any question we need to know. He doesn't force us to agree with Him, but that doesn't mean He's not right; He always is. I pray that God reveal Himself to you. I can't answer for Him on that one. Then again, there will always be atheists (not all of them mean) because God wanted us to show authentic love to him, so he gave us the choice, to love him, or to turn our backs against him... Christ wasn't called so when He walked the earth by self or His disciples. So the name that means salvation is probably not Jesus. Jesus is a poor transliteration. Joshua would be a better english translation but even then that was not the name used. I prefer Immanuel/Yehoshua/Yeshua personally. God's name in vain is also about calling yourself Christian and being a poor representation of Christ thereby doing disservice to the gospel. God bless all on your journey. Amen

I lov3 greg laurie and respect him so highly, and he is right on with his sermon's 99.9% of the time. However, I must point out that in this sermon on "taking the Lord's name in vain" am I the only one that noticed that he takes the Lord's name in vain at 32:37 when talking about "mud flaps" he say's in vain "thank god" and then catches himself. we are spiritually-limited and will never obtain the omniscience of God. We don't know of everything out there and we don't know the purpose. That is why we will be rewarded with Eternal-life if we hold faith in God even with this limited-spirituality and knowledge. We are so twisted in what TRUE reality is, this is where Satan can be applied, he is meant to throw us off. Everything is so twisted in these times, it is hard to see clearly. In the End.... you said Saturday is the Sabbath and the 4th commandment says to remember the sabbath and keep it holy...six days you shall labor and do all your work but the 7th day is sabbath you shall not do any work the lord blessed this day and hallowed it....exodus 20:8-11 then you said dont let anyone tell you you have to keep the sabbath on sat 😨 If God wants us to keep sat sabbath then why say you dont have to? I believe in Yahweh and our lord Jesus Christ very much. I have a question: how far does the anger of god go? Like he has killed alot people on the spot for their sins in the old testament, yet the sins I've committed seem worse , and I'm sure alot of you are like me in that way. God is omniscient. When he created the universe, he saw the sufferings which humans would endure as a result of the sin of those original humans. He heard the screams of the damned. Surely he would have known that it would have been better for those humans to never have been born (in fact, the Bible says this very thing), and surely this all-compassionate deity would have foregone the creation of a universe destined to imperfection in which many of the humans were doomed to eternal suffering.
