I noticed that the parts you're using come from different manufacturers. I see that DJM sell "complete kits". What made you decided on using Belltech springs instead of the ones available from DJM? Also, Maxtrax and Belltech kits don't require the control arm and sway bar to be relocated (they only have shock extenders). Is this a necessary step that yields better control/ride? Thanks in advance.

For a couple dollars, buy some 3/8 heater hose, slide it on the coil bottom and top, and it'll lift your rear over half an inch and I guarantee it's cheaper than the spacers. Had to do it to my 3rd gen camaro which has a similar suspension setup in rear.

Sub 2 me or I'll call the cops If you watch a few other videos on my channel you will notice I also have an fbody. The pocket the spring sets in is big enough to accommodate the heater hose mod. It would not be safe on this application. I did look at that however. :)

@@Puddsbrudda I have a 1996 Silverado extra cab with a 4/6 lowering kit on 17" wheels, and I've been in a chair for 30 years. It's LOW. I quick release the chair wheels and put the whole chair in the extended cab. Transfer over is cake. Sounds like I probably have way more upper body control than you, but it's still a nice even transfer over.
@Puddsbrudda6 жыл бұрын
@@wixman666 did you cut the seat down or go with low profile seats?
@wixman6666 жыл бұрын
@@Puddsbrudda I did not modify the seats at all. The interior of my 95 silverado extended cab is bone stock except for the hand controls and the spinner knob. It has high back buckets with the adjustible headrests. My chair is a quickie GPV with quick release wheels and a rigid frame. The passenger's seat has a lever on the side about halfway up that makes it slide all the way forward to allow passenger access to the rear seat. You hit that, and then put the wheels inside leaning against the back of the passenger's seat with the axles facing each other so the fat buttons don't get tangled in the spokes. Then you grab the frame flip down the back of it, lay the driver's seat back as far as it will go, pull the chair across you and set it on the seat behind the passenger next to the wheels. Then you sit the driver's seat up and drag the chair behind you, then move the wheels against the back seat (they are on the floor still standing upright) and push the passenger chair back til it locks. It sounds complicated, but it takes all of about 30 seconds once you get used to it.
