Yup ... it somehow looks sporty and aggressive but elegant at the same time. She should be a nice little summer driver.

@TheOddShop-bp6ov exactly. I always dreamed of doing an ls swap with a t56 into one of these, but the bmw electronics scare the crap out of me. And because I'd want everything to work , I never actually attempted it.

@@Emilthehun Yeah, I'm looking to see if I'll be able to merge the 2 CAN buses together to still have everything working. Right now I'm planning on running both ECU's but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get them to "play nice together". I'm looking into building Arduino based receiver/transmitters between the two ECU's so it can translate "GM English" to "Bimmer German" and vice-versa to keep everything working but, honestly, even that is a little "above my pay grade" LOL!

i'm doing an ls swap in an e64, ls9x has swap mounts and an ls accessory bracket that I beleive allows you to keep the bmw ac

Thanks for the info. I am planning on doing my own engine mounts since the BMW mounts are the same type as what GM used when mounting the LS2 in the Pontiac G8 but the AC bracket is definitely something worth looking into!

Just went and looked up the kit you mentioned and it really is a nice piece. the engine mounts they show are pretty much what I had in mind except they welded three pieces of plate as the "support arm" where as I was just going to use a section of thick wall rectangular tubing. their site does say it "can" use the BMW power steering pump with slight modifications and then specifies the difference between the 2 power steering pumps used by BMW but it doesn't specify which is used with their kit??? I do have the "big" pump because I have the "active sway bars" and, unfortunately, their kit does not seem to mount the AC compressor but I'll keep searching. Thanks again for the info!

...Actually went back and looked at the ls9x website again and saw that they offer different kits to fit either power steering pumps.

@@TheOddShop-bp6ov ya i think they have truck spacing and the closer spacing, depending on the ls accessories you have. the mounts are def easy enough to make on your own. Will be watching this series :D

@@Rxdeliveryguy Thanks! Right now, I've ordered an "el cheapo" bracket off of Ebay that's meant to mount the GM alternator and a Type 2 power steering pump. I'll use the GM alternator and modify the power steering pump section to mount the large BMW power steering pump since my car has the active sway bars and I want to try to keep those. As far as the AC goes, I think I'll just use the GM compressor and "adapt" the hoses to it ... probably easiest way to do it.
