SO IMPORTANT!!!! THAT IS THE REGULAR MAINTENCE YOU NEED TO DO WITH AIR TOOLS!!!! I LEARNED THAT WHEN I WORKED AT THE JEEP DEALER IN ORANGE COUNTY.

@@RonniesWorkshop Your very welcome but what do you think about using ATF Dexron tranny fluid as a lube as well. I've done some research and pretty much every one says it's never failed them..
@RonniesWorkshop3 ай бұрын
@@WoLFSkYBLuE69 I don't have an informed opinion on that. I would just say the safest course is to use what the manufacturer suggests with the tool to be used.

Dust caps for the tools: When wire shelving is cut, what is left is a very sharp, jagged end. Whoever sells wire shelving should have packets of rubber/vinyl caps to cover those ends. They make perfect caps for pneumatic tools.

good tip...thanks. i also try to do some other maintainence at same time. lubricate the slides where the nails/brads go on the gun and try to remember to drain the moisture out of my pancake compressor.

Ok, but what about greasing the tiny zerks on certain air tools? I know they would only be greased rarely, but what tool greases them?

What about the automatic inline oilers, too erratic or ok?

I am not familiar with the advantages and/or disadvantages with those.

Do you have to use air-tool specific oil or can you use other oils? I have some 'super-lube multi-use synthetic oil' here
@RonniesWorkshop Жыл бұрын
I don’t know about that. The oil is cheap enough, I wouldn’t chance it.

After lubricating a tool is it normal for oil to come out while using the tool?
@RonniesWorkshop Жыл бұрын
If you put a few shots without nails onto a piece of scrap wood after inserting the oil, that should work any excess oil through.
@jessedewell Жыл бұрын
It is not abnormal or cause for concern.. Maybe a drop or 2 less on the next lube job... If it is cause for concern (leaking on a wood project would definitely be something to look out for especially if ur finish nailing and all stain and seal has already been completed but definitely not a concern for the tool

But how often do you gotta do it ?
@RonniesWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
Ideally before every use, depending on how long you're using the tool. I usually do it every few times I use it. Thanks; for watching!

I would only use what the manufacturer recommends.

Disappointingly you left out the most important part. How often? Once a month? Once a year?
@RonniesWorkshop Жыл бұрын
If the tool is used daily, I'd do it every day. It depends on what tool and how often it's used. Best to check the manufacturers recommendations. Thanks for watching!
