Naw, it does work... Im just trying to figure out what the salt and soap was for... baking soda and vinnegar will fo that on its own... or you can mix a bit of Comet with Vinnegar... point is you need an acid and a base to trigger the reaction... just be sure you have plenty of ventilation, as with many cleaners, the fumes are toxic and can make people sick. TL:DR its amix of an acid base reaction, with a gritty oil remover. So its a cool bit of chemistry, Mainly the salt and dish soap combo is a powerful oil scum remover, and by adding baking soad its incredibly coarse causing the scum to form micro scraps which allows for two processes to happen. Nucleation where the mix of vinegar and backing soda can form gas through their reaction causing oil to be picked up by the soap and salt, and two is the acid to surface ratio, since vinegar is an acid it naturally breaks down carbon residue which is what burned crud is, , and by increasing the surface area you get a better contact ratio leaning to better break down. Results will varry if you have a Teflon kines pan as this will ramage the liner and make the pans unsafe to use, only use this method on stainless and cast pans
@captain_context9991

But if its this easy... Then why doesnt this already come in a spray bottle for 3 bucks in any shop ?
@norimeirrain2793
@norimeirrain2793 Ай бұрын
@captain_context9991 I mean there are pan degreasers that do the same job but mainly because it's more cost effective for companiesif you just buy a new pan, and the stainless steel degreesers are fairly dangerous to leave around
@captain_context9991
@captain_context9991 Ай бұрын
@@norimeirrain2793 Surely the companies that make cleaning liquids are different than the ones that make pots and pans. I still buy new stuff once a year regardless, but yeah. All these clever tricks that actually work... Always makes me wonder why that trick is not readily available for sale. Also that was not a terribly burned frying pan in the first place.
@norimeirrain2793
@norimeirrain2793 Ай бұрын
@@captain_context9991 true it's probably not as effective on more sullied pans, but I think it has more to do with the steps, so to use the baking soda trick it's like 4 steps and combines mixing an acid and a base which you can't do in a small container, where as the store bought ones are one step and usually contain a phosphorus based acid to strip the carbon, It's kinda like how you can cause a spoonful of vinegar to soften laundry instead of fabric soften ans it will do the same thing and is less harmful on more fragile clothes. It's probably just the logistics of marketing and packaging
@captain_context9991
@captain_context9991 Ай бұрын
@@norimeirrain2793 Yeah, so thats a perfectly valid point. That it has to be done in steps and not just like a spray on, wipe off. But you could still sell it as a do-it-yourself-package. Someone has probably decided its not worth it.

Ohhhh, that smell sucks ! I threw a rock at a skunk once, as i was young and stupid. It wasted no time and blasted my nose with that cursed spray as it stank to high heaven. My eyes cried instantly and i uncontrollable puked. I was rubbed by all kind of soap my dad can find and the smell still stayed on for days !

Vinegar is naturally acidic. Adding salt creates a reaction that significantly increases it's acidity. Adding the baking soda and soap creates a bubbling affect that helps to lift off the grime/rust/scorching

You were so right, and then so wrong. That "bubbling" is pure visual. You'll get just as much "lift" as simply wiping it away.

It’s the vinegar and baking soda that’s doing it the compound breaks down the molecular structures then it causes it to bubble cleaning all surfaces I’m a Microbiology major that’s what my degree is in people call me a nerd but I’d rather be a nerd than uneducated jus stupid lol 😂

Vinegar and the baking soda (acid plus a base) neutralize each other. So that’s not doing much. And the concept is from chemistry not microbiology.

@@thepcal9654you are one of a handful of educated people. Countless people mix vinegar and baking soda, thinking the fizzing reaction is the opposite of what it really is.

The baking soda neutralizes the vinegar so that it is the equivalent of water, add some salt as abrasive, and soap to wash. Your basically soaking your pan with soap and water.
@kevinkanzler495
@kevinkanzler495 Ай бұрын
It only neutralizes if it's exactly equal amounts and equal acid/base difference from neutral... Guaranteed the acid is working on the pan here.

Who didn’t know this? Also the salt isn’t needed. Baking soda with dawn pretty much does it. The vinegar is only needed for HEAVY muck.
