hmmm you probably don't, if you cut some off the weapon, you could probably just glue it on, but you would need to cut some off the weapon otherwise it will snag on the AT RT body. I didn't think of that! Thanks for the though, I have two more AT RT's to go and I might just do that :)

I used 2mm X 1mm. Never trimmed gun mount. Can't see magnets. Worked great. I used an industrial strength locktite from my son got from his workplace. They will never come off. Little tricky to work with cause dry time is 1-5 secs lol. It's pretty much instant. You must be precise.

I was worried the weapon would catch on the body of the AT-RT but if it works it works!

Good video - thanks! Something I discovered over the years, with magnets - rather than having to worry about Polarity, use Nail Heads for one of the Contact Points, then it doesn’t matter which way your magnets are set. Usually I would use a suitably sized Flathead nail, but the space here is pretty tight. Probably need to use a suitable Finishing nail. Then, as you mentioned, trim a bit off the Weapon Posts, and glue on magnets. 👍

That's a nice way to solve the problem! I've used a different way.. I just applied a bit of Loctite at the top of every weapon's rod, to increase their diameter. Now I can push them and they block inside the miniature's hole with a bit of force. With this way the attached weapon is pretty solid and it won't fall off.

i used 3mm because it's all i had. it works if you gouge out the inside of the inside of of the shield piece with a knife to make room and then just chop off 2mm of the weapon part and glue the magnet to the end of it. would be much easier with 2mm for sure.

How about using a Brad nail in the weapon. Heat up the nail (while holding it with tweezers so as not to burn your fingers) and carefully insert it into the weapon, you could possibly shorten the nail and use the head of the nail to connect with the magnet.

I tried previously to just glue to the end of the weapon... couldnt find a glue that would hold the magnet, with some force i could pop them off... have to come up with another solution

Super glue wouldn't do it? Loctite gel is pretty strong stuff

People have said you can shave the side walls, but I am not a big fan of the idea but with more hobbying, it is possible I've seen.
