Happy New Year, all! This year, the best thing I did was get laid off from a job I couldn't stand. It was the kick in the keyster I needed to do what makes me happy. So, I started a small tree service with a friend, and now get paid to operate and maintain saws. Very thankful to my wife and friends for unwavering support. Love and safe new year to all!

funnest thing in 2023? fixed up a 91 volvo 740. electrical gremlins exorcized, ac redone, new exhaust, water leaks into the trunk fixed, coolant leaks fixed, new stereo. thing runs mint. bought a husky 55 and a 372xp and cut up a ton of firewood too. that was pretty fun. :)

I stopped using the compressor around the clutch on my Stihl saws. Instead I use a brush and vacuum together. I do this because the compressor was blowing crap under the covers around the clutch and the crap jammed up the brake mechanism, particularly on my 461. I haven't had a problem with the brakes since I changed my cleaning method.

I also vacuum. If its really greasy I’ll just take off the clutch drum.

In winter my compressor is useless. Just gets way too cold. So I've become Austin to taking the clutch brake off and cleaning it with a brush. Never thought to vacuum it. That still works when it's below zero

Happiest unfortunate fortunate circumstance. Trying to get ahead, went to town and got fuel in a can I always use for mixed gas. That can normally never leaves the garage. Ended up forgetting to mix oil in it. Burned up my 391 which was my biggest saw. Kicked myself a bunch then found a new/used 500 ❤

Funny, now that you mention it almost every saw that I’ve seen with a stripped spark plug hole has been a Stihl. Yep, especially a new plug, get ‘em tite! Oh man, this year has been absolutely brutal to me, the only good thing I can think of is it’s hopefully about over lol.

I had to repair a 660 that the plug stripped out the threads on the cylinder…need to be tight but not too tight 😉. Coil screws and oil pump screws are also good to check. I lost both my folks this summer, so there weren’t too many happy days since then. Spring was good though, Mum came for a visit. Happy New Year buddy! 😎👍

We had a pretty good year as a family, kept things simple. But me personally quitting alcohol was a blessing. And I’m not a “New Years Resolutionist” either so why wait for a particular day to make positive changes in your life, new years procrastinator it’s called. Happy New Years!

Thanks Donny! I don't use my saws professionally, but i had a lot of fun dropping a 42" white oak at my friend's property last weekend. It was dead and there were several buildings in peril if the rot got bad enough. Biggest tree I've ever cut down. I used my 365 x torq that i ground the transfer caps on, compliments of your video you did on the conversion. How much is left in the 372 x torqs? Honestly it doesn't feel like it puts out a whole lot more than my muffler modded echo 620 with a fixed main jet. If I had guessed your cart number the other day, it would already be in the mail! Happy new year!

Hey there Mr Walker...new to your videos, but been watching Billy Rays for awhile...i have both stihl and husky saws....372xp...440magnum...660 magnum etc....my question is about muffler mods and gasket deletes as far as would thosse mods be better on a ported saw as apposed to a stock saw. My saws run really well, and in fact my older 372 is ported but as a 60 year old dirt buke rider, who has been cutti g firewood for about 45 years, I'm always looking for a little more lol. Within reason of course...also im running my saws around the 3000' to 5500' elevation. Thx sir...like your videos and will be watch them alot more.....Happy new year.

Why did the pulse line come off? I know they can pull loose if a guy gets to jerking a pinched saw especially with longer bars. How do you know if it was a fluke deal or if a new line is needed? Thanks
