That looks really cool! What a difference that makes! Always offer a service your competition can't, or won't do.

Your IB job looks very good and professional. Keep up the good work on that and yes, I think you’re right a pole style hedge trimmer would be much more comfortable then bending over to do the job. And definitely blowing it off when it’s done does give it a much sharper appeal

Great, great points about the subtle subconscious impact that putting a bevel and edging the ivy bed has. Gives the client's visitors a great first impression and shows that the client's landscaper (and by extension, the client) cares enough to do things right and neat, without sloppy shortcuts. I'd argue that this effect is even more pronounced on things like ivy beds that people are used to seeing more "wild" and untrimmed.

I have a customer that has ground cover, and we use a lawn mower at a high setting. Saves a lot of back pain! I have used a weed eater, but IMO the lawn mower at a high settings is better.

... I'll be doing the very same thing to the ivy on my fence closer to Memorial Day... it's beside a sidewalk and it has basically become a noxious weed but the height well above the fence is allowed which gives me privacy. (Fence heights can only go so high). The only good thing (and I say only!) is it is so mature that it blooms - towards August/September - and draws in pollinators at bloom time; then sets berries over the winter which brings in bird activity when food sources are scarce. Regarding the beveled edge, that is my preference actually in how I edge my grass. 👌🌱👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^=

Did you just leave the ivy that was trimmed in the bed itself in there? I didn't see you leaf blow it out ...
