Wow this dude knows a lot you can tell he has been around this his whole life if I went riding down the tracks with someone driving it would be him not the keyboard Warrior this guy right here knows what hes talking about what climate it likes to run at everything matters it is different for each part of the world this is not fuel injection nor the same sea level so all will be different.

Nice video but I would highly recommend NOT running antifreeze in these engines because antifreeze has a higher boiling point then just straight water so it will cause the engine to over heat since it cools it self by boiling water

You unargueably have the best video on KZbin for these engines, and I thank you for taking the time to upload. A friend and I have just purchased an M-19E and your video has greatly helped. I have one question for you. Our model has a very tiny oil cup just forward of the controls that runs down onto the generator. Do you know which type of oil we should use? We're still trying to locate a manual for the car. Many thanks!

How do you check for spark mine has a starter motor added and I can turn it over with a battery but I see no spark on plug. I did not hear the buz

Do these use mix fuel like 2 stroke blend
@linctexpilot83376 ай бұрын
What I gather is these engines are two-stroke, so they will require oil to be mixed with gasoline. They will run in either direction, so forward and reverse, is determined by which direction the engine is running. .

The one question I have is what benefit would you gain from running the spark retarded? I've never met anyone else that does that, and the fairmont manual says that it should be run fully advanced. I generally run the timer around center or slightly advanced but after watching this video I tried running it in various retarded positions and it ran very poorly.

It’s because this guy either doesn’t really know what he’s talking about…… Or he’s just a really poor teacher when it comes to explaining

Wait so when you change the direction I get turning off the ignition and moving the lever. How do we know how long to wait before starting the ignition again?
@redrivergulfrailroad89893 жыл бұрын
The short answer is, practice. After you do it several times, you develop a feel for the timing.

@@redrivergulfrailroad8989 Ah ok thanks This is gonna come in handy once I get the motor for my m14 running since it’s currently seized
@killsalive13 жыл бұрын
When the motor "stops" it will almost always go close to another half turn (watch the flywheels) and then come back a short distance, Be ready for this. This is when you hit the spark again.

"WOW what a pain in the ass, just get rid of that cumbersome and inefficient motor and get one that doesn't require so much attention.

Looks like you're missing the point, Joe. We don't preserve and practice historic methods because they're easy.

I would highly recommend NOT running Antifreeze in these engines they have an "evaporator not a radiator". And the if you know the difference between the two you will understand, and because antifreeze has a higher boiling point then just straight water it in fact will cause the engine to over heat since it cools it self by boiling water off as steam. Thank You @deepsouthmotorcaradventure5999
